Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeah, would agree he's not pacy but his strength seems to be in his delivery, more Beckhamesque than Giggs. A wide midfielder rather than a Winger.

….no goals in 38 games whilst on loan at Crawley, just 6 in 65 for the Baggies does not suggest he’ll contribute goals.

Have to say I watched him recently (admittedly only a cameo) and twice he ran at the back four and overran the ball with options to pass. I’d seen enough and I’d certainly be looking for somebody who also carries goal threat.

I watched Coventry/WBA on Friday and that Fellows isn't very quick. We are crying out for pacy wide players and he's not it. Bit like a right sided McNeil.
Troare is on free This summer , he’s very fast and strong. But end product not great, it’s getting the balance, we can’t just get obsessed with pace. Forest have pace and play mainly on the counter, but don’t you think teams next season will alter their tactics against them. Pace is important, but i want ability first and end product, goals And assists, I also don’t want us to be a counter attacking team. I hope we want to dominate the majority of teams at home and push them back, in
That situation pace is that big a factor

Haven't we always been a stepping stone? Ball, Lineker, Rooney.

The key is to make sure it's beneficial to us as well so selling when there is a fair wedge left on the contract and not end up in a Trent situation. It's why this Branthwaite contract is making me a bit edgy. I think if he isn't tied up soon, we should be looking to move him on. Maybe we already are as well seem to be getting a lot of links to CBs.

Anyway, give me Delap, Rigg and Fellows with some frees and some loans and I'll be happy.

…unlessAlan Ball is a strange suggestion . Maybe you mean Michael Ball.

I think people are massively overthinking the stepping stone thing really. Not many players will have an actual plan in mind of how their career is going to progress, they just want to play at the highest level they can and will take the opportunities that allow them to do that. I very much doubt Ronaldo saw Manchester United as a stepping stone to playing at Real Madrid, it’s just that when the opportunity to move there came up he wanted to take it. It’s the same with all players.

Id like a mix of both just for the squad so we can adapt more in games. Agree with traore but pace off bench being more direct looking to get in the box would help massively. Same in the defence id like to bring some pace in there aswell

If you play a low block, with limited central midfield ability, then you need pace from your front three.
If we can take more control in the centre then we can be a bit more creatine with a fellows type wide man.
Im actually really concerned about our squad.

We're bright enough as a support base to know that next season is going to be a transitionary one. I'd like to see the manager and board be as strong as possible and sign players who have a future. I don't want rejects. I want people who come here, wanting to play for Everton. No Samuel Eto'os, no Morgan Schniederlins, I want people who want to play for our club.

Ball??? He didn’t want to leave and we’d just won the title the year before. Yes Arsenal won the double
The following year, but hadn’t won the league for 18yrs or a cup for 20yrs. Arguably we were just as big as arsenal then.

That was purely a cold calculated financial reason that Alan Ball was sold and I thought Catterick made that decision. At the time, still now I thought it was an atrocious decision, it helped Arsenal achieve the double and we bought Henry Knewton as a replacement if memory serves, not half the player that Alan Ball was.

Agreed. More creatine required. Essential supplement these days. Versatile, underrated and misunderstood largely. 😁

One week spent in this thread will suggest otherwise.
