Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Doucouré- 1 year contract on reduced terms
Calvert-Lewin - released
Coleman - retired; coaching staff?
Young - released
Gana - 1 year extension and 1 year option
Keane - released
Begovic - released
Virginia - 1 year extension as back-up keeper
Harrison - returns to his present club
Lindstrom - will get another loan deal for him, if possible
Broja - returns to his present club
Mangala - will get another loan deal for him, if he is fit enough to play around September which is unlikely
Alcaraz- his deal is Moyes’ call. I have no idea

Others like Holgate and Crellin will be released. Maupay should be gone for around £6m.

Stopped reading after the first line ..

Doucs literally is the worst footballer in the league in terms of being able to actually kick a ball … which I believe is a huge requirement of being a professional footballer

Haven't we always been a stepping stone? Ball, Lineker, Rooney.

The key is to make sure it's beneficial to us as well so selling when there is a fair wedge left on the contract and not end up in a Trent situation. It's why this Branthwaite contract is making me a bit edgy. I think if he isn't tied up soon, we should be looking to move him on. Maybe we already are as well seem to be getting a lot of links to CBs.

Anyway, give me Delap, Rigg and Fellows with some frees and some loans and I'll be happy.

If we sign Rigg & Delap that for me would welcome in a huge shift in the club.

Throw in a Cherki or Dibling and ;)

How's Connor Coady been this season? 32 now, not sure how long his contract is, but with Leicester going down I'm sure he'd be available for cheap/free. Would still be an upgrade/direct replacement for Keane.

I think we will sell Branthwaite this summer.
It's not the end of the world. I think if they can get 60ish for him its not regrettable business. The pool of center back prospects is far deeper than other positions. Jarrad is so sound for his age but he should likely go this window or next summer for us to extract top value. The hype correlated to his age could take a dip and i'm not sure how much him playing week out will appreciate that value. Of course we get good CB play waiting, but I do trust Pickford's command, Moyes defensive soundness and market options even if his exit would change the priority list for additions.

My worry is more rotation planning. Bare minimum we at least need two playable CB additions (even removed of a sale TBH). We enter the summer already thin at the position. Tark is a constant but at some point age regression is staring at us. If he starts to show cracks we can't act as if it's a surprise. O'Brien seems to have been some wise business, very nice to have him already in the fold. This is why i've advocated to add Ipswich's Cam Burgiss on the free. No matter what happens at CB I think he's wise depth and we could near triple his wages with an offer sheet almost half of what Harrison got this last season. He's been linked to a move to Girona I doubt he clears 40k weekly though in La Liga. Just to say we could likely beat such an offer effortlessly and offer a little breathing room while maneuvering in the market.

Regardless of what's decided Moyes would be wise to add the CB prior to a JB sale if that is indeed the plan, to avoid clubs conflating the business and having some leverage from his return price. Its marginal how much that plays into deals but worth noting.

The Branthwaite issue is a big one. In an ideal world we 100% keep him, but, hes pure profit for psr, whereas players bought in are amortised over their contract term.

Its going to be a really interesting summer. I dont mind an additional years contract for gana and doucoure if it means we spend more on fewer players.
If we lose too many players, then we are going to be buying 7-10 average players.

The notion that we have 150-200 million to spend, and clear out the whole squad and replace with plenty of high quality players simply is not going to happen.

Behave yourself!
Got into the England team when he was last with us. We need at least one CB even if we don't sell JB, but not a starter. Would be a good backup/rotation/experience option if his level is still where it was. 32 is not too old, and he wasn't a player who replied on his pace, so his age shouldn't be an issue.

…..do we need Delap if Broja and Chermiti are two of the most gifted strikers we’ve ever had?

The only part I would question is that if we keep Branthwaite 1 more year and he gets established with England his price will go up at next season's end.

He's terrible. Was rarely picked for Leicester who have conceded 73 goals .
He's worse then keane
