Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This would be the correct thing to do and more promoted sides should arguably do it.
I can see why more promoted clubs don't do it but in this particular case i'd agree it's probably a good idea. Farke has shown he's very good at getting sides up but not so good at keeping them there, there's enough evidence to make a pretty sound decision about what you can expect, which isn't usually the case with other clubs/managers getting promoted.

As you seen
Yesterday mate, beto and doucoure absolute garbage. And Harrison and lindstrom when he played, this is why they can’t be back ups next season,
Not good enough
Hmmm - I had Beto as a third choice CF, Doucoure didnt make my 22 nor did Harrison. I guess we have to agree to disagree on Lindstrom, I think he gave good account of himself at RM under Moyes.

Agree. Reluctantly to say he might keep at least beto and Harrison.

I struggle to understand why Broja can't be more of a threat, but we don't put good enough balls in at the moment either...

Leeds back in prem so no excuse now for them not to take Harrison back.

Also surely not another loan, would be a permanent deal and do not want that one little bit as then stuck with him for 3/4 years and he probably becomes another Keane/Holgate you can't shift with a change of manager.

Need to learn from past errors especially with someone only on loan.

is an area we need to really improve on the loans on players who can really make an inpact

I think we need to go all out for Liam Delap:

We can offer:
Guaranteed 1st team football
Big wages - £100k+

If he has a £30m clause which is to be believed, get in early, see if Man City wants him back now and move now to get a key signing in early.

Another key element is next season is a World Cup year so going into a season as No 9 for a Premier League club is a huge plus.

Same agents as Pickford and Chemiti so we have a good relationship with them.

He would be the first of a key signing which would provide a domino effect and encourage other targets to look at joining over other clubs.

Going to Man. United I reckon.

It's a shame as just five years ago under Carlo someone like Matheus Cunha would've been a realistic signing with how the team was set up. Yes a hothead but a quality player when he's on it and that's the sort of signing that would massively elevate the quality of this team but simply not in position to seriously tempt those types so more likely a punt from abroad.

You go back three years and Kudus was on the verge of being signed so they are out there and no doubt someone of that quality will be offered to the club during the summer.

Dovbyk was offered here aswell before he had that amazing season for Girona. Still starting for Roma in their surge under Ranieri but you never know they sign a few players in the summer and he might become available late in the window, double figures in Seria A.

No he wasn't. You mean you would pick Walcott ahead of N'diaye?

Walcott was pretty useless. All that pace and he managed 11 goals in 85 matches. Funnily enough his stats at Southampton were almost identical, 10 goals in 82 matches. At Arsenal with top players alongside he did well, elsewhere else not. No-pace-McNeil has 14 in 99 plus 16 assists (Walcott had 9).
I don’t really see N’Diaye as a winger or striker but I would have him ahead of Walcott I agree. I think you need a balance of pace and quality and I think something like McNeil Ndiaye and ‘a Walcott type’ or Ndiaye Alcaraz and ‘a Walcott type’ would be really good behind a proper striker.

You just need to look at the success Forest have had with Hudson-Odoi Gibbs-White and Elanga/Jota Silva.
Neither Jota or Elanga are particularly good but they’re rapid and Forest play them into decent positions so they get multiple opportunities to create… think of the goals assists Coleman used to get whilst being technically poor on the ball - all about pace and smart runs!

Honestly if we sign Harrison then I’m choosing another team to support.

If we acquire anyone from Leeds it should be Tanaka , technically gifted player on the ball and effective at sitting back and providing defensive coverage, but can also push up the pitch if needed
