Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeah, must admit I was expecting a lot more from him in the u21 game yesterday. Very poor performance, totally dominated by his opponent. The bright light was Heath, he looked a real handful.
I didnt wanna be harsh on the young lads, it must have been a big occasion for them and I believe that Bolton had more "first teamers" playing?

I thought the number 11 had something about him, but all the lads looked really small and sleight, which I find a concern in this league, dont Messi at me bros.

If you believe the press Spurs are offering 38 mil for him.
So that's a big fat fat NO for us.
His position would be pretty low down as a priority, so again No.

Dont forget this when Spurs are light years ahead and players like Gray, Bergvall, Odobert and home grown Moore are considered to be top class.

Swap 17 for 18 & sunderland for Derby, and you have just described Harrison Armstrong, without the £25m outlay

They look nothing alike to me...how on earth are they similar players?

And that should also be something Sunderland should be asking for, considering what Spurs paid for Archie gray

Indeed, bargains of the future.

Don't see Dixon being anywhere close to good enough to play right back in the PL unfortunately. I'd love to be wrong but he just doesn't look like a top quality prospect from what i've seen.

If Moyes feels the same way then Kporha may be a good idea as backup RB then.

100%, I was very impressed with him. The game just seemed to pass Dixon by for the most part, very quick and can put a decent cross in, but he doesn’t seem alert enough to what is going on around him from what I saw. Slow to react when his team mates were looking for an outlet. Maybe the event got to him?

Not allowed to say this mate.

You are meant to just blindly support these young lads and ignore their total lack of talent.
To be fair to Dixon he was one of the few players that looked decent for Spurs the first time around. I think the main issue is nobody has really stepped in and taken that role at RB til Jake and Jesper started featuring on the right side. Young filled in admirably for a bit but it was at the expense of our overall play with Doucore having to cover for him in the middle. While we still undeniably need a fullback at both sides, I can see the shouts for Dixon when we were lacking for depth and O'Brien wasn't playing. Some players look better in a real functioning team as opposed to a youth setup. The manager simplifies the game for them and gives them a role as opposed to them trying to figure it out at a youth level. He could easily be the next Antonee Robinson who people were saying the same exact things about. I think we need to get used to the idea of trying youth a bit more often as opposed to signing the Ashley Young's.

You nailed what I was trying to convey.. he just wasn’t very alert was he. His shocking no look back pass should have seen Bolton score and he never took his opportunity to do a quick 1-2 to get down the wing (though in fairness that may have been a management call). If 25k is daunting he’ll be seriously struggling when there are 54k in there next season. One that definitely needs a championship loan to learn his trade I think. Patterson is leagues above him and he’s only back up standard in most people’s view (though I think Moyes might just do a Coleman with him 😉)

Yep, agreed. Physically he's got all the tools, but technically he's miles off the standard. You can learn defensive positioning etc and experience counts for a lot, but I don't think you ever really improve *that* much as far as your ability in possession of a football goes.

Of course, the caveat here is that I desperately hope I'm proved wrong, but this season we've seen Dixon and Armstrong get minutes from the academy. Dixon is lightning quick, but otherwise looks like he's below the standard required. Armstrong, on the other hand, looks like a real prospect. It may seem really harsh to pass judgement on kids at this age, but you can only say what you see.
