Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

According to some reports they made between £7m and £9m for 3 nights of Taylor Swift. They were allowed to sell hospitality packages and some merchandise.
Fair enough, £2 million a night then, still not a massive profit considering the costs of running a football club. For any other business that would be great, but they don't pay their workers stupid wages like football clubs do

That is 1 million a night, performers can stretch out 6 nights plus out of some tours currently at Wembley etc. Think boxing etc as well, that can bring in some good money. It is all about selling hospitality tickets at these events and making some good commercial contracts with sponsorships etc on top.
I know how it works, I did it for 20 years. The act and promoter make the vast majority of money and the venue makes very little.

You think we're going to have 20 stadium concerts a year? You're lucky if you get 3 or 4. Wembley stadium doesn't get that many.
We have permission for 19 I believe. Obviously how many we actually have is a different matter but really the biggest factor is something you aren't taking into account and that's sponsorship. That's where the big increase comes in, the corporate deals you get through being associated with these events.

Also if it wasn’t worth it nobody would bother bloody doing it in the first place.

They can also have concerts outside. Not as profitable but would still generate some income.

And concerts are not the only thing they can arrange at BMD.

Okay. I'll post some players I'd like us to sign:
Andy Diouf
Chris Rigg
Niklas Kühn
Luca Netz
Habib Diarra
Emanuel Emegha
Nick Woltemade
Dennis Cirkin
Richard Rios

Rocco Reitz
Julien Duranville

There were go!!
That's actually not a bad list.

4 highlighted are my go to ones. although we are pretty strong in centre mid i doubt we go for 1 let alone 2 more.

........2m is 1% of our revenue. For a single non-football night. Every business in the world DREAMS of being able to increase a revenue stream(matchday) by 10% in a single night(currently 20m).

Imagine in todays age of PSR saying "no thank you, not worth my time" to making an additional 20m a year because you dont want to do anything for 10 nights.

Look at these guys with all there Gift Orban shouts
74 first team appearances at 18 years old and scored winning goals against Barca in champions league games for both Antwerp and Monaco. Not exactly an unknown quantity.

That's the balance we need to strike this summer. We're going to need to sign quite a few young players and they're going to need to be at a certain stage of their development while still being affordable for us.

Why?

Some cheeky but unpopular suggestions for free transfers next season that people probably wont like

Kyle Walker Peters (27) - out of contract, but knows the PL inside out, experienced and seems a solid pro
Josh Brownhill (29) - Box to box midfielder in a similar mold to McGinn at Villa, has got better with age
Tariq Lamptey (24) - speed demon who i would imagine Moyes would use on the wing instead of fullback, a cheap squad replacement for Linstrum? Injuries a concern
Nelson Semedo (31) - Another with plenty of Prem experience, and captain of Wolves
Fabian Schar (33) - An upgrade on Michael Keane (if we don't sign a new contract with him), good ball player, which Moyes seems to like from his centre backs
Reinildo (31) Marauding left back with a fieriness to as well, could picture him at Forest or Villa
Vladimir Coufal (32) We have all seen the links
Bright Osaayi Samuel (27) Former QPR winger turned into a full back at Turkey
Tyrys Dolan (23) Hard working grafter with an good eye to nick a goal here and there, upgrade on Harrison
CJ Egan Riley (22) Not signed a contract yet at Burnley, England under 21 international, part of a solid back line this season

Now 7 of that list are all full backs, obviously you wouldn't go for everyone

I agree Sponsorship revenue is massive, and being associated with the world's biggest artists will help that. I was talking more about direct economic benefits but that is definitely an indirect one.
