Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Thats just it, nobody is saying put all our money into Fullbacks, we dont even need to spend money, get 2 loans in the Fullback positions.

So its not "Just buy Fullbacks", its improve the fullbacks, improve the midfield, improve the wingers, improve the Strikers.

Not an easy task for 1 window, but not impossible.

This is what we are working with :

Goalkeepers
Jordan Pickford (HG)

Right Backs
Nathan Patterson

Left Backs
Vitaliy Mykolenko

Centre Backs
Jarrad Branthwaite (HG)
James Tarkowski (HG)
Jake O'Brien

Midfield
James Garner (HG)
Tim Iroegbunam (UA)
Iliman Ndiaye (HG)

Wide Forwards
Dwight McNeil (HG)

Strikers
Youssef Chermiti (UA)
Beto

We can assume that Gana will stay, the others, who knows.

But we need GKs, Fullbacks, a CB, some midfielders, some wingers and a Striker.

Surely Alcaraz will stay as well, be mad if we don't sign him at that price.

dcl don’t you think he will be in talks? 🤔
Doucoure, another year, Young and Coleman no thanks, I think they are finished, offer Coleman a coaching role. DCL again not sure with his injuries also he badly wants out by the sound of it, we can not depend on him.
Think it depends how many games DCL has to leave his mark on Moyes or maybe hes already agreed a deal elsewhere, regardless, I dont think we can allow a player of his talent to move when keeping him would cost us a mere 6m a year.

I realise thats a minority view, but its mine.

Baines

I dont

It would be nice to have a new pair of attacking fullbacks but I think with the limited resources we will have are they top of the list or is it creative midfielders. I think the team for 25/26 may not be much different to this years.
I think it's going to be very different.

Keane, Harrison, Mangala and DCL, possibly Doucoure all won't be here next season, can't see Coleman and Young both staying, Lindstrom's not doing enough and Broja constantly injured, Virginia and Begovic probably gone too.

There's only talk of Gana being offered a contract at this point, perhaps Tyrer and Armstrong to come in from the youth teams. That would bring numbers up to 15.

Including loans we'll need 8-9 more, big summer ahead.

Be happy if he stayed, it's a shame he got injured just as we were starting to improve. Beto stepped up, but would have been good to have two different types of strikers available.

If he stays then we can focus on attacking midfielders and other areas.

I agree with this. I’d have him sign a contract, loan out chermiti to a championship side.

Then the question do you sell Beto and get a top class striker ? Or keep Beto and get a third striker in, possibly on loan.

I dunno, depends on our options, totally unrealistic, but players like Jonathan David are available for "free", so it would depend on our options.

As ive stated in the past, I think Moyes is a big fan of Broja, so I suspect that whoever gets fit first and leaves a mark, will be our number 9 next season.

As for Beto, we might actually fancy "cashing in" on his fine recent form, especially if he can grab himself a few more goals.
Why are we talking about renewing the deal of someone who is perennially injured and has decided his future is elsewhere?
Forums are places where people express their thoughts, this being the Summer transfer thread, I think we should consider retaining our current number 9, due to his pretty meagre wage demands for such a talented player.

If hes decided his future lies elsewhere, then its a pretty moot point and he will indeed sign for somebody else.

But feel free to express your views on this and many other topics.
