let spurs buy another overpriced youngster instead

But we should sell Branthwaite for £35m 🤪
the parameters between a young defender and a young attacker would be different though

branthwaite kept more than 12 clean sheets last season and was a key part of the one of the best defences in the league

he was in the top 5 defenders in the league with clean sheets after saliba, gabriel, tarkowski and ben white

3 of top 5 were arsenal defenders and arsenal finished 2nd in the league

Dibling did nothing last season of any note and this season has 2 league goals against ipswich and crystal palace and 2 fa cup goals against swansea and 2 assists against cardiff in the carabao cup

2 premier league goals

the same as doucoure

Christ!

Realistically I think all that does is move the market for him back a year. Gives Southampton a year to convince him to sign a longer deal. It's not the worst idea ever. We certainly won't be going for him at that value and I'd be amazed if any teams do. Maybe a desperate Liverpool if Salah leaves and they're scrambling at the end of the window but even that feels unlikely.

Fair play to Southampton though, hope he doesn't go the way of Gnonto

They can value him for as much as they want as far as I’m concerned, they found and developed the player.

Other teams including us either cough up or walk away which is what I think will happen and he stays at the Saints.
we developed tom davies and he left on a free contract

they can do whatever they want sure, they don't even have to sell him if they don't want to

heck why don't we just ask for 200 mil for ashley young

why not

why the hell not

Or he walks away on a free in a few years .
They set the bar high and hope to get a good price. Remember last year when apparently if we got relegated, we’d have to sell Branthwaite, Pickford, Onana and DCL for about 70mil #firesale

Newspaper rumour that Manchester City are now interested in Brathwaite. Perhaps some sort of deal including James McAtee or Nico O’Reilly coming to us - possibly both.

McAtee is left-footed but plays on right wing – so much better than Jack Harrison or Jesper Lindstrom.

O’Reilly looks an exceptional prospect as a number 10/striker – again so much more potential than DCL.
