Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not sure what your trying to say here

Tom Davies was no longer under contract and hence he left for free, if he was still under contract he could have been valued at what ever the club deem fit.

This lad at Southampton is under contract so they can value him as they see fit and if other teams want him they have to cough up that’s how it works no matter how stupid the valuation is.

So not sure what point your trying to make
what if the player wants to leave southampton and join a superior club

if he feels that the valuation placed on him is ridiculous and is effectively forcing him to stay at the club do his feelings not come into consideration?

this is a human being, not a commodity that you find in tesco with a fixed price

Has he done that ?

What I’m saying is that the valuation of the player is dictated by the selling club not the buying one

If he kicks up a fuss we should forget he has a contract and let him/her do what they like ?

What’s the point in contracts ?

The player is under contract and they set the asking price and if a player wants out well then something is always worked out

player power is much more significant now especially when every player has an agent

a contract is pointless these days which is why chelsea offer stupid 25 year deals to their players

Yeah we were heavily linked with him. Obviously hes also 6 years older.

With Rigg, he looks to have the intelligence that gives him spacial awareness so his positioning and runs, as well as his passing stand out.

I think that is something the top midfielders all seem to have. He's not there by a long way but that awareness of his surroundings is going to be a hot commodity.

Different players but Armstrong at Derby playing in that RCM position. If Rigg was to continue in the centre then he may be a long term partner at LCM.

The more highly rated England youth internationals that can add value to our squad...the better.

Like to look of the Sunderland left full as well, Cirkin I think.

Do you rate Dibling? All the top clubs seem to be circling him for big money but whenever I see him I just think he looks a bit short on pace.

Its all about his dribbling and awareness.

We're English. We dont have 'feelings'.

Thats an American concept.

….no idea why posters waste finger muscle discussing players I doubt are even getting a mention by Moyes and his team. I have no idea who is on his shopping list, looking forward to discussing actual links and rumours;

Moyes' probably doesn't have a clue about the players we should be signing. He should be giving a profile of the type of player he wants to someone who spends all of their time watching the lower leagues, the French, German, Spanish and Portuguese leagues, the under 21 internationals featuring unfashionable countries. This is where successful clubs with limited budgets like Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford are getting their players from. Moyes wouldn't have identified many of their signings and fair enough, that's not his job, or it shouldn't be.
