Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They bought Wan Bissaka, who has been there best player this season, a clear upgrade.

36 games last season under Moyes
30 games the previous year
28 the year before that

Clearly rated by Moyes and clearly a Premier League standard player
All about opinions, I wouldn’t have wan bisaka at Everton, and they’re playing him wing back, he’s nearly as bad as Myko going forward. It’s no different to West Ham taking doucoure off us, played a load of games for us last few years, but would he make them better?

And we need better than prem standard

So when in January it said we were fine regrading PSR, what period was that covering because that’s confusing. I presume we must have been in profit for 20/21??? Also aren’t the accounts due soon, which would be 23/24 and going off them figures, we could be 25mil in profit and still be over. Then you have this year 24/25 ending on June 30th, so from July 1st which will be 25/26. The two years you’ve posted will come off???

So with all the new financial improvements, stadium, debt reduction, reduced interest payments, better sponsorship deals, naming rights deal. I’d expect us to spend some money this summer. As these recent accounts are 2 yrs behind and while there’s hearsay, nobody actually knows the true figures. And from July 1st we have till June 30th the following year to balance that accounting year. Add into the fact PSR is going and getting replaced, it all adds up to I haven’t a clue.

I’m just hopeful that are new team in charge of the club have some brains, unlike the last bunch and can come up with some clever accounting, to help us kick on. Or maybe just sell goodison to the ladies team
I dont think its surprising at all to find we will have small losses for 23/24. Theres no way we changed our accounts to the tune of 90m in one season with no changes to revenue. But those losses, again, are not the same as PSR. The first 30m of expenses are non-PSR typically, so actual PSR losses for those seasons are something like 15m and 60m. But the big part of the 90m loss was actually player trading. We were -40m that season until player trading.

For 23/24, it should be something like +22m in player trading, so a 62m difference from last season. We also cut some wages, so while they who knows what the accounts will actually show, it could be just a small loss for 23/24, less than any of the prior 3 years. The reality is, starting in a few months we now have vastly increased revenue AND the massive high interest loans are off the books, replaced with a much lower cost. Both combined change our PSR spending by a large amount.

And he (Coufal) will be 33 in summer, is declining, noticeably slower than he used to be, and has been a bit crap the last two seasons overall.

I have a fear (possibly unfounded) that we will end up with a load of “workman” like signings in the summer, none of whom will really be capable of elevating the team beyond 7th-10th positions.
While people will start foaming to point that would be a marked improvement on recent finishes, I’m not convinced the current squad isn’t already at that level, just been subject to a series dreadful managers, off field distractions / excuses and injuries.

Will we be in the market for players who can be consistent game changers or more likely in for more of what we have already / minor improvements over current players?
Is Moyes up to attracting and coaching the mavericks who have something about them, or are we looking for grafters with the occasional sprinkling of magic?

Aaron Wan Bissaka, 2 goals 2 assists from full back (only played back 3 since Potter took over)

Mykolenko got his first assist in 18 months the other week

I think we're a fair way off that level with the current squad personally. I think a realistic aim over the next couple of years is to move into that 7th-10th bracket as a baseline with the possibility of having a good run/one or two teams struggling and so us going higher. One of our biggest issues will be people demanding we run before we can walk.

We've been circling the plughole for a fair few years and will only have 11 first team players left in the summer. If moyes can assemble a team that has us 7th -10th in the league for our first season at the new gaff, I'd take that all day.

Long-term success is built on solid foundations, so that should be our priority.

Not exactly prolific.

He is such a good player that I cannot see this being true at all.
