Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Is it? If we get taken over by billionaire ambitious owners, refinance debts, ease PSR restriction from the new financial year in July whilst moving in to a state of the art stadium, and then still can’t make a 40 million signing to compete with even the mid table clubs then seriously what’s the point? Brighton splashed 40 million on Rutter last summer. Wolves signed Cunha for 44 million, Leicester signed Tielemans for 40 million, bloody Bournemouth with their 12k piddly stadium splashed 40 million on Evanillson! And we can’t compete with these clubs STILL?

We’re talking Delap here as well, not Harry Kane. I’m far from convinced that a player who stank out the Championship with Hull last season scoring 8 goals in all competitions in 30 odd games in a lower tier, is suddenly head hunted by the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea!

Yes he’s done well this year, but so did that Luton striker last season in the Premiership who’s now disappeared that plenty were creaming themselves over in here. I personally would like to see more from him before risking big money.

We’re not going to be in a position to splash 40 million on several players which we need, that’s obvious. We’re going to have to box clever on a number of deals, but surely we can make ONE big money move? If he does end up with options, then Moyes has a job to do to sell the move to him if he’s the player we want. We’re moving to a brand new stadium, we have new ambitious owners who are looking to invest, and more importantly, we’ll make him our starting striker who’ll play every week instead of getting splinters in his arse at Stamford Bridge or the Emirates.
Bad example to use Harry Kane here - he was pretty poor during his four lower league loans, barely scoring. Used them for development, got a chance in the PL. Hey presto, banging in goals for the rest of his career.

….these blokes are lauded and courted by top clubs but then tend to fail with promoted teams. The first thing they need to is make their teams hard to beat, you see it in the FA Cup where a very well organised team can make life difficult for top clubs.

Nobody’s pretending it’s an easy task but failing to adapt with the aim of initially staying in the league seems to be what costs them.

Have you been to the Dyche thread mate!

Agree also will be alot of data about him to see if it was him having poor performances at these loans or was showing some postive signs just wasnt getting the goals. Sometimes is just about players getting physically ready for first team football, think is going to be a risk whatever striker we bring in the summer. Just a real hard position to buy in look at the rs nunez, united, chelsea ect

Wouldn’t mind Ivanovic from Millwall as our backup striker.
Ship out the injured duds and get him and Delap in.
Job done.

Pull your finger out Moyes, you dithering Anfield-bottling Biff!

I reckon these players are ones who’ll be getting looked at a Chsmpionship level:

Tyler Goodhram
Borja Sainz
Jobe Bellingham
Giorgi Chakvetadze
Ben Doak
Josh Seargent
Callum Doyle

Few centre backs at Burnley and Sheff United who would be of interest if they don’t get promotion
I think Neill and Rigg at Sunderland and Fellowes at WBA.

…I was hoping nobody mentions Gnonto again, not surprised he’s spent plenty of time on Leeds bench.
Given that Thelwell will no longer be around to get moist about Gnonto, I think it’s fair to say that ship has finally sailed and there will be no chance of him rocking up at Bramley Moore. 1st window we’ve had in years to finally get that wide right position sorted so I’d hope Moyes is aware of exactly what we need out there

We didn't sign that many players from the Championship actually when Moyes last was here. It feels that way because some of his best signings came from there but there really weren't that many.
Did Moyes sign John Stones ?
He did sign Lescott, Cahill and Jagielka( he had just been relegated from the premiership)
