If Lukaku is away then it's got to be Bony....already playing and scoring in the Prem in a style similar to ours means no adjustment time or settling in....he'd hit the boards running. Strong as an Ox, quick and would be available at around £14-15M I reckon.

BUT Bony might simply this year's Michu. Bit of a gamble. He's also an Ivory Coast international, so he'll waltz off to the ACON at very inconvenient times every couple years. No thanks.

Remy's a no, because he's a bit rapey. Don't want that sort of character at the club, regardless of his on-field performances.

Charges were dropped, yes. But that could be for any number of reasons. Not saying he's guilty, just saying that anyone who manages to find themselves being suspected of rape is possibly not the type of character I want hanging around my club.

Deulofeu is an absolute no to coming back. His play with the ball is absolutely infuriating at how he refuses to pass the ball, but then lose possession trying to pull off a magical goal. He's got loads of talent, but he won't have the chance to apply it if he keeps playing as selfishly as he does.

I would love a player like Ben Arfa, especially with his poor attitude gone. Newcastle seems like a sinking ship and it wouldn't shock me if there were quite a few who hand in requests to leave.

No to to Deulofeu because he's infuriating.

I have to admit I'm still drooling over Holtby. We should get Holtby. Why can't we get Holtby?

I still think we need to consider versatility when making signings as there is no way we can maintain a squad as big as our top 4 rivals will have.

That is why Holtby would be ideal. He can play alongside either Barry/McCarthy/Gibson in the 6/8 position in midfield or as the attacking midfielder behind the striker rotating with Naismith/Barkley.

agree with pretty much all of that. benteke's going to be injured for a long while now though, who knows if he'll come back the same player so that would now be a risk.

i don't think bony will be another michu btw. still not sure if michu is another michu tbh, but he's been very average this season when played. the thing with michu is that he was very cahill esque, he didn't really control games or be involved, he just popped up with a lot of goals from midfield.

bony's all round play is improving week by week though, he's been an utter sensation this year and would fit us perfectly. he's learned to be less greedy over time in the prem as well.

We're in the Summer transfers thread mate - everything in here is conjecture.

There are some players that I just wouldn't be happy with us signing, regardless of their talent. I'm not trying to convince of you of Remy's guilt, nor am I stating that I think he did it - I'm just saying that due to the off-field allegations against him, I'd prefer not to see him in an Everton shirt.
