Now that it's looking very unlikely we'll get Champions League I would go for:
Barry (free)
Colback (free)
Lacina Traore (loan)
Deulofeu (loan)
Tadic (12M +/-)
Demba Ba (7M)

That would strengthen our squad and its very realistic.

We could also try to sign Lacina Traore for 14M, probably a bit less, and then instead of Demba Ba we could try to get Bafetimbi Gomis or Mame Biram Diouf on a free. Although in the first option we should still have a bit left to maybe bring one or two more cheap players.

??? is he worth that much? i wasn't overly impressed with him at anzhi, not sure he should be worth that much or a team with our finances should be taking such a gamble tbh. get him on loan, if he has a great season, that may be his worth then.

I'd like to see Jovetic come in on loan from City mate, can imagine him linking up well with whatever 'primary' striker we had and liked the look of him whenever I've seen him for city, looks hungry as well

Strong rumours are that Monaco paid that much for a player they didn't actually want soley as a favour from the Monaco owner to help out his friend who owns Anzhi, dodgy dealing all around in that transfer
 
I said a couple years ago I would love to sign Thulani Serero from Ajax and thinking about again now, he would be perfect for the squad right now. He's an energetic box-to-box midfielder with flair. He's kind of a combo of Pienaar and McCarthy. I've only seen him for the national team though but I think he is doing well in Holland.

 
@DutchToffee -Post wasnt aimed at you mate, just those saying hes useless?! If he was a youth player he'd be the new linekar or something.

This summer we definitely need the following;

Playmaker -Tadic (on the bandwagon)
Winger - Deulofeu loan
2forwards - Lukaku / Traore Loan
Centre Mid cover - Colbeck

Thats fees for Tadic and Lukaku which may be too expensive.

Either way this summer we're going to be picking up about 6-8 players, not all are going to be £10million men, that's impossible, so I think we're all just going to have to believe in Bobby and take the unheard of players! Btw I thought Colback looked boss for sunderland against cardiff yesterday, ran the show in my mind!
 
Colback is crap.


By seven 'new players' i'm guessing he means promote 3 from the yourh (Garbutt, Browning, ledson/other) and then sign a few more. I'm unsure if he'd actually go out and make seven or eight new signings.
