Short keeps buying bad players with money out of his own pocket and they can’t get rid of any of them. Pickford was the only real asset they had left. Probably loads of compensation to fired managers and DOFs in there too.
 
I am genuinely sorry to see this happening to Sunderland. I have had a soft spot for them since they beat Leeds in the 1973 Cup Final and of course, more recently, with our adopted mascot Bradley - hard to believe it is nearly a year since he passed into heaven.

Finances look grim but I hope they can come back from this.
 
Whatever happened to the centre-half Kone? Loads were bigging him up and he was on the verge of a move here. We seem to have dodged a bullet there.
 


Euro semi finalist to relegated championship manager to sacked in that timescale would be sad to see if it was someone else. The way he defended the Taylor challenge made me laugh at his misfortune.

Too bad he had to take Sunderland down with him.
