I blame smart phones.

You know, there's an element of truth there. One if my mates routinely spends the match checking whichever betting app he's using to cash out. Or goes to the bar for the second half and watches on the screens.

It's almost as if when the game isn't up to much fans (at many clubs) throw a titty lip and look for entertainment elsewhere. Instant gratification isn't it?

It's a novelty thing too. For example, Stoke used to have a cracking atmosphere when they got into the premier league. "Us against the world, let's intimidate" mindset. It all died down once established. In many respects we've been comfortable and middling for a while, it's like no one can be arsed.

Familiarity breeds contempt etc. Hmmmm prawn sandwiches.

I also wonder if there's a sullen resentment towards just how much money the ponces on the pitch trouser whilst usually letting everyone down. "COME ON YOU PERFORMING MONKEY, I'M PAYING YOUR EXHORBITANT WAGES. ENTERTAIN ME. MAKE ME CHEER!"

It's far more gratifying to boo Cuco for being bang average and a millionaire who's making off with a portion of yer hard earned.

BOOOOOOOO

That’s right mush. Go into a frightened hush. Let me enjoy it.

Now with ultra plums out the way I’d like to thank most of you for your contribution and helping me understand things a bit better. Up the toffees!
Your team played tonight, yet here you are on an Everton forum.

Very strange behaviour.

Thanks mush. I read a lot of replies ridding themselves of blame and saying it is the Football standard instead. If that is the case then why do the lower league lads (like us!) sing and back the team? The Football is terrible the further down you go but there are still lots of good lads turning up week in week out and giving a push to their team.

Or maybe the lads who have stopped caring like some on here retire to the pub where they can sit in silence and peace! Get behind your boys and help them give more for the cause!

Well yours and other lower league clubs crowds are down and ours are up, so that proves your point wrong.

Using singing loudly and being an "ultra" as point scoring is a bit sad tbh.

The wrong type of people are attending our home games these days, all day trippers or Welsh whoppers who follow Chester/Wrexham and Everton. More passionate in the 90s when we were in relegation struggles but had the scouse hangers on from the 80s glory years who wanted to see them return.Long gone from Goodison them now.

Not point scoring at all mush. How can Birmingham compare to Everton? Just trying to find out where the passion was last night is all.

Appreciate the heartfelt feedback mush. Thanks.

I say passion is working hard to be able to pay for 3 season tickets every season.....and selling out every game.

Not a few hundred kids in Half empty ground singing crap songs.

What about the other games??? Were is the passion?? Why cant adults sing and get behind their team in those ?
There’s more passion in our u23s crowd than there was from the home in your game last night mush. Listen I can see you’re angry and don’t want to fall out so let’s leave it there.
