Because the way we are at the moment Chuck is a feeling of despondency. We can count shots on target over previous games on one hand. It's not a good place at the moment. Would rather the action got the crowd going than singing one man and his dog all match. That is not atmosphere that is just singing for the sake of it. To me atmosphere is the buzzing of the crowd rather than singing for the sake of it.
We can't blame the current run we are on mate. It was crap under Koeman last season, it was crap under Martinez during his one good year and it was bad in the last year or two under Moyes. If had to place a time when the atmosphere at Goodison was more good then bad most weeks it's back in 2011-12 at the very best and that's me being generous. Its probably closer to 2010 in reailty.

I don't think we've ever been much of the karaoke and sing along type club tbh but the Goodison roar was somthing that most clubs couldn't compete with. Proper intimidating for away sides, inspiring for our side and amazing to be part of for us as fans. Nobody liked coming to Goodison once, who'd be intimidated by our "atmosphere" these days?

I agree but was only comparing the United atmosphere to our current run. Feel we have rose to the occasion initially against the top teams but when we have seen us outclassed it becomes a resignation.

There was definitely an air of resignation last night. After the renewed period of expectation at the start of the season, we are now a poorly performing club still dangerously close to relegation with a less than universally popular managerial appointment. Bound to put a dampener on things like.

I think the atmosphere at the old lady has been affected by quite a few things tbh,the biggest one being all-seater, our lack of success in years, the poor football we have witnessed all season and nowadays at the match you cant shout anything in fear of your seat number being reported.

I find it annoying that you're created threads criticising my club on an Everton forum and falsely praising my club's rivals.

Birmingham's great atmosphere have done them wonders. All ten of them fans must have a great set of pipes.

And then the chant of ZULU went up and every fighting man who were not that went into a frightened hush.

Glorying hooliganism there, are you, mush? Tosspot.
He's not a brummie m8. Hes a Kopite multi.

Good atmosphere helps teams perform better mush. Why wouldn’t you want your team to perform better?

An atmosphere is created by events on the field and the reaction of the fans to that and not by grouping together as @GwladysBlue quite rightly put it and having a Karaoke sing a long. We do try and encourage the team when things are not going well and if the team reacts the volume and atmosphere increases. People may disagree with me but atmosphere can be felt (good and bad) but the sing a longs is just that and not an atmosphere. You can feel the buzz and crackle of an atmosphere IMO.

Apathy is the problem at the minute. We're not supportive, nor critical at the minute. We're in the worst possible situation where most of our fans have accepted our lot. That's not an indictment on the supporters, it's an indictment on The way the club has been run for the last 20 years. If we werent such a patient, passive fambase then we wouldn't still have Kenwright as chairman and a manager like Allardyce.

That’s right mush. Go into a frightened hush. Let me enjoy it.

Now with ultra plums out the way I’d like to thank most of you for your contribution and helping me understand things a bit better. Up the toffees!
