Tactical Side of Rafael Regime

Chalk and cheese between Benitez and Ancelotti. Benitez is still able to put the time in and learn what his players can do. He's also able to adapt the tactics and formation during the game and still has the will to win. The players clearly have respect for him and are also conscious that he is aware of whether they are doing what he wants. They are correctly aware that he will dig them out if they are not trying their best.
Whilst a clearly able coach in his day, by the time we got him, Ancelotti was just a lazy coach with a one dimensional view of how we should play. He didn't get the best from any of our players and had no idea how to change tactics mid game. He's too old for it now. May have been different if we'd have had a packed Goodison during his time as that may have inspired him to put more effort in. The players were also able to con him. They won't get away with that with 40k Evertonians watching.
Koeman was the same.

I write a lot about Everton's tactical side of the game over on my twitter (same as my username here) and it's gained ridiculous traction recently. A lot of people massively impressed with how were playing.

What are the main differences between Carlo and Rafael do you think?
A manager who fought tooth and nail to get the job. A manager who is hungry to do well no matter what.

He mostly keeps the full-backs deep, but lets the wide players push up front, which asks a lot of the two in midfield.

On current evidence, it's going to be enough in the games that you'd expect to win, but I think there are going to be a few hidings dished out by the better sides.

Still a largely fit heathy squad, we’ll see the difference when we start getting injuries and suspensions. It was all fine under carlo with a fit squad aswell if anything we played way better football during the first games of last year to this
He was a bit to blame for that, no rotation at all and players wore down.
