Because mate, there is nothing in there history to suggest they are, as a general rule yes American owners early to the last have an atrocious record in terms of investment into clubs they own, in fact it's the opposite they invariably leech money and leverage massive debt onto them.

Feel free to show me examples of an American owner whose done the opposite though.
I’ll take your word for it. I’m not an expert. Which country has the good record that we should be trying to find a buyer from then?
There’s probably a few I’d wager that can provide one who could do a better job than possibly one of the most imbecile owners of a club in English history that we have at the moment

I’m after some optimism regarding all this, anybody?
Here’s some: Moshiri is an absolute car crash waiting to happen, potentially far worse than we’ve seen so far. His associates are far shadier than this consortium, his business is highly dubious, he appointed Benitez, and wanted to replace him with Pereira. Getting him as far as possible from our club before the bomb goes off is highly desirable.

Ah ok.

So he should've paid and not asked for it back when selling?

This sums up a lot of our fans tbh.

Delusional.
Some fans believed that, yeah. I'm not one of them. The point I'm making is that people are making out that moshiri has been anything other than a complete failure. The excuses are "he's put 400million of his own money in to us" and "he's building us a stadium". He has in fact done neither of those things.

It means they have their turn to look at the books and do due diligence.

That doesn't rule out any other future bids...which I'd fully expect.

The Torygraph are like a dog with a bone on this. I dont see any other journalists nailing their colours to the mast....remember their exclusive concerning the done deal of Roberto managing Belgium AND Everton back in January?

I know @Zatara suggested something further, but terms is quite early on. The other yanks had got further on in 2016.

My sense is, they will want guarantees from the PL about FFP and points deductions. No ide if they can get them.

There is a question of why it's being made public. More serious buyers would need to act as a result. Or other serious buyers.

Thinking on it, the fact he almost got us relegated from his dreadful decisions (see Benitez, R) meddling, and listening to absolute whoppers like Joorabchian, I don’t even mind us rolling the dice here. Other than the stadium he’s done absolutely nothing helpful. Doubt this lot will be sticking their nose in buying players, like when mosh bought Cenk “I know a striker when I see one” Tosun.

Wow what a scoop from the Bobble.

Where does he get his info? :coffee:

I can't see a points deduction now, tbh. The statements about the league and auditors working with us for the last couple of years should mean we are ok. It would be a difficult case for the league to bring as our defence would be "both you and your auditors ok'd this". They'd lose all credibility.

I dont know how concerned I'd be. Its not like we're a standout 'brand' in the sports/football world so its not like they would just buy us and milk that for their profit. But if they see us, with the stadium on the way, as a platform with room to grow (with good management of course), then I can only see that being a good thing?
