If we get a new owner does FFP reset?

But, if Moshiri was looking for investment, could they not invest in the club via a share issue? If they did that, then it would help P&L rules and FFP wouldn't it?

And then they could arrange to buy more shares from him over a period of time, in the same way Moshiri acquired his.

Not sure if that stacks up, those of you that understand these things better than me might know, but would what I said not be a way of:

a) Moshiri getting shot of the club
b) The yanks acquiring the club
but crucially,
c) solving some of our spending restriction issues??

Qatari’s waiting in the wings.
Buy a sleeping giant with a world class stadium about to be commissioned.....decent backdrop for the world cup

Newcastle, richest club on the planet, currently can’t spend loads on the worlds best players because of FFP.

Very excited about this, we have to be taken over if we want to.move forward, moshiri has shown he can't do it, we thank him for the ground, and just write off the last 6 years and look forward.

Doesn’t matter if owners have 10 billion or 380 billion. Premier league is a closed shop. The advantage that City and Newcastle have is that they are in essence countries, and arranging sponsorship to supercharge commercial income is relatively easy. Path for everyone else is largely closed unless you get a lot of decisions right. Moshiri talked about a window of opportunity and gambled but failed. Had we secured regular European football it would all look very different.

Yes I understand that. My point was that I'm sure that I read somewhere that a share issue does count as positive income on a P&L balance sheet, as it involves the creation of more shares, not the transfer of existing ones.

Basically, the thing I read said that the sale of existing shares means the transfer of the value from one owner to another. Whereas a share issue creates revenue for the club but dilutes the shareholding of the existing shareholders.

So it would never generate the kind of funds that would allow you to go crazy. But if it say, generated £30-40 million and we added that to sales and wages coming off the books and any new commercial income, then it should at least allow us to invest something more in the playing squad.
