It’s possible as the plan basically backfired. They made the mistake of not putting Usmanov in charge from the off, could of got a decent manager then and big players instead of this utter mess

I mean, if I’m going to speculate wildly on it, I’d say that Usmanov may have done this with the idea it could all go wrong.

Nothing in his name, all unaccountable for him, meanwhile his business partner, sanction-free, can walk away with any invested money.

That includes the properties, football assets and so on.

Quick sale. £500m-£1bn, and it eases the stress of any “frozen” assets.

There no way they would of thought 6 years ago what was going to happen would happen.

Maybe they thought he turn up buy some players take us to the top 4 and then Usmanov would come swanning it
