To be fair he blew 800 mill on us to get progressively worse and he wont make a return on that.

Not sure id trust him with the weekly big shop.
I have little doubt he will have studied and understood the system and money rules of the corrupt FA.

This does not necessarily equate to spending money wisely. Plenty of wealthy people who have been crafty in acquiring wealth make stupid decisions.

Does that not make it worse, studying it in detail and making a dogs dinner of it.

Re Thornton, theres no way hes only worth 3m. Hes more likely to be worth billions from that.

He was paid 3m last year in bonuses, which was 1/4 if what he was paid the year before. That's salary and bonuses. He runs a company with a bigger market cap than the entity of the PL combined.

His exec team will also be on share options as part of his package. If he has 0.1% of outstanding shares, that's 300m. He will have had share options when at a senior position in GS. I dont know how easy they would be to retrieve, bit given he left 20 years ago would imagine they are not locked down.

Suffice to say, it's almost impossible for him to only be worth 3m.

As for Usmanov, a lot of his assets are written down in the western world. So might be an argument he currently has limited availability to cash.

Wheres the $3mil come from youre referring to?

My post was guessing $100-200mil from 'work' alone.

Not including investment holdings.

Have no idea how they could do that........i dont think it can be done.

They would have to have some mad sponsorship deal lined up next year.

There is a fit and proper test, and they also want guarantees no FFP punishment from PL. I'd imagine they would want that in writing.

The PL may tell them no, or they may agree to their terms if they want it to go through.

Moshiri cant really give any guarantees though.

Saw someone quote it a while back.

Hard to see his stock options at GS (where he was CEO?) from 20 years ago not being worth a fair bit now.

I dont see a world in which the Premier League sign a piece of paper that says we will not be punished.

Blanket immunity? Nar.

I genuinely feel like if we moved the Park End to BMD, and had it as a seating area for a giant Hot Wok, we would fill it.

I saw that mate. The lad was saying we could write of our FFP - 105 mill over three losses and start from scratch - ive no idea how we could do that - or if we can - i doubt it.

My take is any new owners will still be governed on what they can spend on players, by our current FFP limits. Even if they have billions to throw at us (they wont) they wouldn't be able - so nothing is going to change in the playing recruitment end of things.

They would have to have a huge commercial deal for us up their sleeve - like City.

There’s really no concrete information around their net worth that I can find online, this worries me.

But surely it’s about the long game. Do we think this club gets better off the pitch anytime soon?
And just by running the club properly with the right people and an owner not meddling in the running of the whole thing, would be a huge step forward

Think of positives if we taken over by these venture capitalists , new sponsorship opportunities you think stake.com was ethically problematic wait until were sponsored by a defense contractor like Lockheed Martin....
