Team for Krasnodar at home...

Futile to guess but I quite enjoy it:

Joel

Hibbert (c)
Stones
Browning
Garbutt

Gibson
Osman

Atsu
Barkley
Oviedo

Koné

I would like to see Ledson, Galloway and McAleny.

Jonjoe Kenny too, but I reckon he's too far off.

Everything I've heard seems to be that Kenny is now ahead of Ledson in terms of progression, do we expect to see him?

Could be wrong like...

Neville Southall (in current guise)

Kone Oviedo Kenwright Barrymore

Greg O'Keefe @Bungle Clattenburg Yer ma

Amanda Holden Lauren Merrin

I know I know.... 4-4-2 leaves us a bit open
Surely she's a defensive midfielder?

I too vote for a mostly kids side:
Robles; Kenny, Browning, Galloway, Garbutt; Ledson, Besic; Atsu, Henen or McAleny, Oviedo; Kone. Give Besic the captaincy (no need to overburden any of the kids, and maybe the added responsibility will curb his more reckless tendencies) and have Jags and Eto'o on the bench.

With a busy Christmas coming up,playing any "first teamers" would be a mistake,Hibbert.Kone,Oviedo and the best of the U21s.Give them "the result is unimportant,go out and have fun" team talk.

Did anyone watch the U21's against Sunderland? Basically the team which many are wanting us to use.
While we won 3-2, most who watched it will agree, we robbed them.
Robles was Motm as he saved numerous 1 on 1s, Oviedo bossed and influenced well.
Kone apparently scored a "worldie" but really he shanked it!
Ledson, Grant, Jones, Kenny are not yet the answers and McAleny never will be.

I only see Browing and Galloway as potential back ups for now.

This obsession with blooding youngsters is crazy, yes they deserve the odd few minutes here and there but not starting in a dead rubber or not. The reasoning behind this is say we play them all and lose, well we all knew they weren't ready but we played them regardless, and say they did win, everyone would demand them constant minutes when they were out played by a far younger Sunderland U21s who despite losing were far superior in every aspect except goals.

This is a pretty negative view I know but I just feel this is reality not FM.

I think most of us calling for a largely U21 team in this fixture are doing so primarily because the senior players who are not currently injured all look like they need a rest.

Very few people would seriously be calling for Kenny to start ahead of Coleman, or Ledson ahead of McCarthy, and so on and so forth, regardless of how well they play against Krasnodar.

Yeah I get that, but perhaps mainly populate the team with fringe players such as Hibbert, Robles and Atsu. Then add players such as Besic and Eto'o. This gives us 5 players who don't play week in, week out.
Obviously use Oviedo and Kone, even perhaps Mirallas to give them game time, this leaves room for 3 youngsters perhaps in Browning, Galloway and one other?

Mate its a nothing game, just give a couple of the U21s a game to acclimatize them to first team football

I am thinking that given the painful watch and poor performance v Hull, and the fact that this is a 'nothing at stake' game, attendance at GP will be very low
