Despite the ire, we've got to grips with 5 at the back. And back 4 ain't a problem. So, all doors are open.

Coaching is the key. And in my opinion, we've got that in spades.

That's what I like so far with Frank and his team... Pragmatism, character and spirit are the order of the day.

It'll go a lot further than a "preferred" or "set" formation.

midfield triumverate of steel there, Iwobi using his power and base to bounce through tight gaps and thread a few balls INTO!!! space. over the moon here to have gana back, and having a nark (Maupay a la Dickov) up top to rotate with C Lewin gives us a fresh edge as well. We've a bit of strength in depth, we can change it up a bit if need be. It'll take a bit but these will eventually click.

The difference in personal of the players brought in for the midfield alone is night and day. Gone are the slow, one paced slugs, now we have quick, mobile players who all love a tackle.

I’ll always prefer 433 (or even 4231 with a playmaker/the right personnel) but why have we spent the entire Lampard reign recruiting for 3 at the back and hired a DOF that wrote a book on it if we’re not going to play it?

This formation does allow a lot of fluidity across the front. And Gana is perfect for the DM role. I think his passing game has gone up tremendously since he last played for us
