My dad once drove from Adelaide to Perth (in the 70s) along the longest straight road in the world. He says there were dead kangaroos all along the side of the road and dead eagles which had been attracted by the rotten meat then hit by trucks. The 3 hour and 15 minute flight from Perth to Kununurra doesn't even leave the state of Western Australia. (That is in a standard Boeing 737)
