When these two retire where is the star power going to come from in the sport ? None of the current crop of younger players seem capable of bringing the same level of attention to the sport. That Alcaraz kid is the big young prospect isn't he ?

It's nuts. Rafael has nerves of steel, Djokovic has that return game, and they've both learned to ask those impossible questions Federer used to ask.

I think that's unfair. We've certainly had an extraordinary period of domination by three or four players for well over ten years but anyone who loves the game will find plenty to enjoy in the new crop during the next era.
Maybe what you mean is the casual tennis fan isn't going to get so easily excited by watching less familiar names battling it out. Once they get more familiar the elusive star quality will come through I reckon.

Can't believe Djok couldn't close out that 4th set. Congrats to Nadal, his gameplan worked, he played better overall and fully deserves to advance.
IMO the match was high quality but there were few periods when both players were playing their best. It swung from one player putting in a huge effort and the other one letting them run with it, but overall Nadal played at his best for longer periods and I think in the end he just wanted it more.
