Grew up in the 70,s watching Terry in the team that came so close a number of times. I just echo what a lot of people have already said, if only half this ream had Terry's guts and determination. Hard as nails and 100%er. Thoughts with his family and friends.

I've just finished reading the Nevin book and there's a story in it from Pat where Terry and Colin Harvey pick him up at Manchester airport to try and clinch the deal - and they've made a tape of indie music playing in the background to try and influence him to sign. lol

I hope Terry and Colin got called the cocteau twins after that...

A no nonsense full back who never gave less than his best effort.

I remember a game at Goodison that was sponsored by Sharp Electronics and they offered a home stereo unit for the Man of the Match… and TD had a great game and when they announced him as being the MotM the look on his face was pure joy… he obviously wanted a new stereo unit ?

He used to get some stick at the latter end of his career and he's always mentioned in relation to that late cup final replay defeat to Villa at OT. But as I remember as a lad from that period he was quite decent on the ball if he had time on it.

He gave me one of my best momories as a kid at Goodison, inthink we were playing QPR and he had been getting a torrid toem from their winger (possibly Leighton James I cant recall) and after about half an hour he must have got fed up and he almost killed him with a tackle. It happened right next to where i was in the street end and the winget let out a little shriek, dead high pitched and it was the funniest thing I had ever heard, laughed my head off for days after and kept trying to replicate the high pitched squeak at every opportunity RIP Terry lad, a proper Evertonian and a proper defender!

I can hardly remember who was in the Everton team five years ago but players like Terry Darracott are burned into my memory forever.

Terry was grown up when they moved up here. But the younger members went there. He still came back to take his Mum to Mass in St Aloysius in her later years, God bless him.
