Tevez set to seal Man City switch

Which is very amusing. The were one of the highest goal scoring teams in the league last year....but also had one of the worst defending records...

But they'll still spend £50million on boosting the strike role. Very funny.

good point. we've not been linked with ANY defenders whatsoever!

From what I know only 3 defenders - Toure, Terry, and Lescott....from which nothing has happened (as of yet).

But you've bought 2 strikers (Tevez, Santa Cruz), had the KB from 1 striker (Eto), and are about to buy another striker (Adebayor) to add to the 2 strikers (Bellamey, Robiniho) last season.

Are strikers what you need? No, but you're not complaining. But so far it seems like that's where the focus has been.

No doubt defenders are next on the shopping list.

I'm not particularly bothered about who they buy because anyone in that team can be easily replaced and most probably will be if nothing happens next season.

By January its gonna be..."Oh Bridge, Lescott, Santa Cruz, De Jong arent actuallly playing particularly well, we're 6th - **** it £100mill on replacing them it is then!"

you are right, mate. defenders are next. i think the plan was to get one or two marquee signings up front. build some marketing momentum. then try to sign some quality at the back.

not sure what the KB is, but we would not have pursued Eto had he not wanted to come. he got too greedy in the end, and we pulled the plug on him. word is his people are desperately trying to resurrect the deal.

KB= Knock back, mate. Eto's only in it for the cash..and relying on him on a cold Sunday away at Burnley in the rain is something he wont like.

But like I say, you's can buy all those players but I dont think Hughes is the man for the jobbie. You're going to have a strong bench...but most of them used to be 1st team regulars (Stephen Ireland wont get a sniff next season IMO) and would probably want to quit and move on if nothing happens this season.

No skin off your nose, but it loses stability which is already going to be a wreck with Adebayor, Robinho, Elano and whoever else that comes in with ego's bigger than the club. Hughes cant handle that.

You're class academy is probably up the spout also the way things are going on too. But you're going to buy a trophy which is always nice to balance things out.

Chico and Nev, you're both nice lads but really, what's with all the hate towards Tevez? The fact is, he wasn't wanted beyond being a squad player at United. Clearly moving to City is mostly about money, but I also think, given what you see from him when he plays, it's about being part of a first eleven.

All I'm saying is give him a break.

Oh, one more thing, moving to City from United isn't the same as moving from City to United, at least not yet.

Evening Nebbiolo

I Respect your opinion mate but I cant and wont give him a break he doesnt deserve it. He has (in my opinion) turned out to be a two faced money grabber

We generally give ex players a good welcome at old trafford ( Apart from ince for obvious reasons) but for me Tevez sorry it wont happen

The thing is mate I loved him at United and he came out with all this bullshit about respecting the fans

The he signs for our hated local rivals citeh unbelievable. He wont play every week at Citeh either which is one of the reasons he said he wanted to leave United
