Thank You Bill Kenwright Plane Banner

So the happy clappers decide to put money forward in support of a banner for Bill? More money than Bill has put into his beloved Everton...

What exactly are they thanking him for?

0 trophies on his watch?
3 failed ground moves (Kings Dock, Kirkby and now WHP)?
Selling off assets?
Most unsuccessful chairman in our history?
Masses of debt despite monumental investment in the Premier league?
Awful commercial performance?
NTL?
Kitbag?
Etc.

These people think that the definition of a good Chairman is which team he supported as a boy and ignore the countless blunders and stumbling from failure to failure - treading water whilst the money pours into the league.

Evertonians will get the club they deserve - the happy clappers lapping up the 'plucky, little Everton' line made famous by Bill and Moyes. Wake up we're not a pub side playing for fun we're here to win trophies and move this club forward!!!

Great comment, think some of the mosning moaning on here need to look at villa etc. Kenwright didn't take over in the 80's when we were actually good and turn us crap.
He took over when we had Walter smith in charge and were far worse off on the pitch to what we are now.

he joined the board in 89, he "took over" the chairmanship 2 years after Moyes was appointed

He joined the board in the late 80's.

I just hope if we ever do get a new stadium they shove a control tower into the plans somewhere, otherwise there could be an air disaster over Goodison with all these planes flying about the place.

What a f**kin embarrassment this whole affair is, now the support seems to be polarising into two opposing camps just at a time when it needs a bit of solidarity. Say what you like about the shower across the park, but when their club needed them to get rid of the yanks they stood as one against them until it was over.

The Blue Union needs to stop its aggressive tactics that are alienating some blues to the extent that they feel the need to pull counter stunts like this. I've seen the relationship between blues become progressively worse ever since the Kirkby debate started up and people on both sides of the fence would rather call each other names and sneer than listen to opposing points of view.

I know this latest plane idea originated on WSAG as I know a few people that still post on there, and I know many of them have such a blinkered point of view of the Blue Union that they will actively support anything against what they are doing, not because of any real love of Kenwright, but simply because they want to get back at all those blues who they perceive arrogantly dismissed their point of view in the past.

The Blue union and it predecessor organisations have created this split with their 'if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem' attitude and until they start to soften their approach and try to encompass the views of those who don't entirely agree with them they are just going to continue festering this sideshow of blues v blues, which ultimately allows Kenwright to sit back and let us fight it out between ourselves.......'divide and conquer' I believe they call it.

What are we thanking him for, appointing moyes, that's the only thing I can think he managed to get right!

I don't even see that as a positive. He gave Smith two years too long prior to Moyes and even gave Moyes a couple of years extra that he shouldn't have had after it was clear we'd peaked in 2009 and were only going backwards.

As but you forget...he didn't sign us over to become like Portsmouth, Villa or Blackburn so that makes him the bestest chairman ever!

You forgot the Fortress Sports Fund debacle mate. A farce which Kenwright himself admitted was 'a means to an end'. For me that is the single defining reason why blues should want rid of Kenwright and I can't understand why we never make more of it. A chairman admitting that he lied to his clubs supporters in order to gain their support during his own personal fight for primacy with Paul Gregg. He treated us all like mugs, no man who calls himself an Evertonian should ever do that to other Evertonians.

He was officially chairman in 2004 but he appointed Moyes in 2002.
I'm not saying he has been the best chairman in the world but their has been a lot worse. I also agree that it's time we move on and progress but people can at least be thankful for the fact that we are better off than before he was chairman and a lot of other teams are far worse off.

Has this organiser identified himself?

If not, then that is very suspicious in terms of any ulterior motive for this stunt. When opponents flew planes against Kenwright it was above board and everyone knew who had organised it and the reason for doing it. What has the instigator of this one got to hide?

It leads me to believe the person in question will have connections to the Everton owners.

It's David Moyes mate, he admitted it on SSN before.
