For the sake of a balanced argument;

Yep, Balls is such a talented economist that Ed Miliband appointed Alan bloody Johnson ahead of him and then wanted David Miliband to fill the position once Johnson was gone. Thats a real boost of confidence in Balls from it's own party leader right there, third choice? It's even rumoured Ball's wife was even ahead of him making him fourth choice. Great stuff. Balls is also a public supporter of austerity, although not quite on the scale of there Conservatives.

In a bid for validity, I'd probably remove the daily mail and express articles. Have you read them? One calls the Autumn statement 'hugely impressive'.

As anyone sen the pictures of ED Millaband or video yet?
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...-Ed-goes-green-as-he-picks-nose-on-train.html

Two Tory activist took the picture - the man has sinus trouble - so what he picks his nose I bet you he farts as well - pathetic electioneering, by the Tory activist - I hope it has the adverse effect the working man picks his nose !
By the way there are pictures of DC in the past picking his nose!

I see he had a seat too, not squashed in with his bunged up nose stuck up someones armpit #manofthepeople

(is that how all this back and forth is supposed to go?)

The bigger your text, the stronger your argument.

I like this quote from Cleggy..... "The Liberal Democrats will add a heart to a Conservative government and a brain to a Labour one."....

Stolen from a quote often attributed to Churchill (although there is no evidence). It went something along the lines of "If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain."

The point is that Cameron told us to vote him out if they didn't deliver. He told us it was a 'contract' between the Tories and the public.

I would argue it's no different from anyone voting for any political party based on their promises that they then renege on. How you dress it up is purely marketing BS.

The point being that regardless of who you support or vote for, you can't simply criticise the opposition when you know full well your own man is as guilty.

Ok. In regards to your post

My argument is, Well at least he is an economist, as opposed to an historian without any qualifications in maths higher than an O level

.....he is a 'proper' economist and apparently government ministers are reluctant to debate with him because he has a real intellect. The trouble with Balls is he is not a very good orator/communicator and unfortunately image is so important in the modern political world. He has also done little to counter the argument that he is partly responsible 'for the mess we were put in'.

.....fortunately for the Tory's the UKIP charge appears to be petering out and the Liberals are predicted to rise in the polls. My own view of the Liberals is that they became drunk on power. All of a sudden they were able to walk through the front doors in Downing Street, Clegg and Danny Alexander became nodding donkeys. The first thing Clegg said at the leaders debate was 'sorry'. Says it all really.

I think the Liberals largely did as was expected. From their birth, they've had a left wing faction (who seem to have decamped to the Greens), and a liberal faction. Clegg is very much from the liberal wing of the party, so I don't see their behaviour as unusual at all. Maybe unusual to those who expect them to be uber left wing, but for those who expect them to be more classically liberal *shrug*
