Dave,

I'm going to be completely honest here.

Years ago when you injected yourself on this forum about how you felt Obama was the greatest thing ever and was "great" for our country, I told you he was the most socialist/marxist lefty ever elected to our highest office. Apparently that's what you thought was "good" for us. Well it hasn't worked and it looks like your country (as of now) isn't ready for that type of government either.

Sorry you feel that's "cruel" and "spiteful" but the reality is that the majority of your voters don't want that type of government.

You'll get through it.

Obama is so far from being either of those things it's untrue.

Something drastic needs to happen, but right now I'm convinced we're going to be subjected to Tory government after Tory government.

The Scots are going to leave the sinking ship. That has and will kill Labour for years to come.
The Scots can't and will not put up with this now.

2016 they'll go for another referendum and they'll be gone from the UK by the next general election. Good luck to them. I wins we had the option.

Believe me, lefty Marxism wasn't being held out by Labour here. That hasn't been rejected. What's been embraced by enough to give the Tories victory is a narrow based English nationalism that detests all things Scottish...in fact all things non-English.

This is a disaster from a constitutional sense too, as I explained regarding the boundary changes. There's no parallel in US politics with this. It is a frightening future of right wing Tory rule we face for many many years.

You've nailed it regarding boundary changes we are all [Poor language removed].

No worries mate. I encounter the same type of misunderstanding on here when it comes to politics in my country so I certainly understand where you're coming from.

I would never pretend to understand American politics. And I've watched The West Wing!

I don't understand the boundary changes. Anything like redistricting in our country?

They will go for it, but there is no way they could get it through Westminster. This is a great night for the SNP but it will set them back decades.

Not making an argument Walken. Just pointing out the facts. How is my comment "all over the shop."

He said that the media in the UK is "right wing?" If that's the equivalent of the "right wing" in our country, then he couldn't be more wrong.
the lad votes Labour Bill, the modern labour party is hardly a marxist organization these days, so listing some radicals in the UK doesn't mean the policies or ethos @Seanjd follows are unworkable

I'd say given my limited experience of right-wing press in the US, the are probably more extreme in your own country, just an outside observation, right wing or not in the UK we have some very powerful people with significant media control who act out of total self interest, ie they will be richer more powerful men under the tories, and influence people as a result

I don't see Scotland being in the UK in a decade's time.

There is bound to be renewed agitation for another referendum......the the SNP will win a lamdslide.

Perversely this election result may lead to the break up of the UK and it's isolation from Europe as the right wing get their way.

It's funny how things can work out.

Tessa Jowell there demonstrating *exactly* why Labour lost this election - talking about their *expectation*, rather than respecting the actual will of the electorate.
