If you get the chance, order a pint of Bees endeavour, tastes of honey & ginger. 4.8 % proof and goes down the throat like silk.
Whitewater mountain ale company.

The firm I worked for moved me to their offices in Spalding, Lincolnshire, in the 1970's. I was there for seven years. Before I bought a house, I stayed at the White Hart Hotel in the centre of Spalding. The White Hart was famous for the fact that Mary Queen of Scots stayed there in 1566 on her way to Fotheringay Castle where she had her head chopped off. The only other thing I can find, which Spalding is famous for, (apart from me living there) is that the very first transaction in Britain, involving the swiping of a bar code, took place in the Key Market store in Spalding in 1979.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,

In a change of pace, I've decided to switch up this thread. I hear you all calling for facts about other towns in other countries, so today, I will be giving you everything that I know about the fine town of Banlung in the beautiful country of Cambodia.

Banlung or បានលុង as it's called in Khmer, is the capital of Ratanakiri Province in the northeast of the country and the province borders Vietnam and Laos. The town has a population of around 17,000 and the surrounding district a population of almost 24,000. The province itself is heavily forested which ensures a plantation agriculture, included the growth of rubber, cashews and oil palms. It is also home to around 12 different ethnic minority groups.

The most convenient way to reach Banlung is via road given that it is well connected with its neighbouring cities such as Stung Treng, Kratie and Phnom Penh.

Electricity is produced by the nearby O Chum 2 Hydropower Dam. It is said, according to some, that only around 13% of homes in Banlung have access to electricity.

Local attractions include the Yeak Laom Volcanic Lake, a 700,000 year old volcanic crater lake. Wat Rahtanharahm is also worth checking out, it is a large reclining Buddha which offers tremendous views of the surrounding countryside.

Did you know?

The capital of Ratanakiri Province was changed to Banlung from Voen Sai to facilitate trade with Vietnam in 1979.

Football?

Very popular.

Closing remarks:

If you're not down with this then I've got three words for you.

'IT'S MY SHOW, SO 'KOFF'.

I'll be back when I have the time, goodness knows what I will have in store for the next episode x
