If Australia don't make the target, but we don't get them out, that's a draw right?

....if we don't get them out Australia will win as there is too much time left for them not to make the runs. There is more chance of a 'tie' than a draw.

...nope, a tie is a rarity. It only happens when the last man is out and the scores are level.

Result wise they are effectively the same the series stays at 0-0. But they're not exactly the same in cricket. If Aussies don't reach their target before end of play on the final day and we don't bowl them out, it's a draw. even if they are 150 runs behind us. Whereas if we bowl their last man with the scores equalled, it's a tie.
Ties don't happen very often was a famous one between the Aussies and West Indies in 1961
