Another instance where England didn't bat anywhere near long enough for the bowlers to put the feet up. 55 overs is not long enough at all

Why would they need to put their feet up? It's the first innings.Another instance where England didn't bat anywhere near long enough for the bowlers to put the feet up. 55 overs is not long enough at all
Extra rest always helpful in a long series. They could easily end up bowling on every day of this match at some point. It all adds up. The bowlers were knackered by the end of the Edgbaston test due to not batting long. Why would they need to put their feet up? It's the first innings.
They don't in the first innings, we had the chance to pick different bowlers if they are goosed. Its just more play 'proper' test cricket nonsenseWhy would they need to put their feet up? It's the first innings.
Sadly I think you are right. He really hasn't looked threatening at any point in this series. Age catches up with everyone, even Jimmy. I was surprised he was picked for the Oval. He hasn't justified his selection with current form and has a poor record there. Should have picked Tongue.Hard to know if Anderson plays on after this series or not. He looks pretty out of rhythm
They've had 5 days restAnother instance where England didn't bat anywhere near long enough for the bowlers to put the feet up. 55 overs is not long enough at all
When you are bowled out in 55 overs you end up potentially bowling on every day of the test match, like at Edgbaston. It adds up over a 5 match series. They've had 5 days rest
What if we'd have won the toss and bowled first? Even less rest? When you are bowled out in 55 overs you end up potentially bowling on every day of the test match, like at Edgbaston. It adds up over a 5 match series.

Get their rest tomorrow and hopefully bat longWhat if we'd have won the toss and bowled first? Even less rest?

I get what you're saying, but I think you've got the context wrong. We could have batted the same amount of overs today and been all out for 180. They put lots of chances down. Our bowlers have had plenty of rest since the last match and if they're not fit we had tongue to come in.Get their rest tomorrow and hopefully bat long
