So if England battered proper (like the Aussies have done) our innings would just be ending now. Aussies come in and bat a day and a half and match our score. Three days gone and Monday a washout. Test drawn. The whingers would then moan that we didn’t score quick enough. Didn’t take the game to the opposition.

The moaners don’t seem to moan so much when we score nearly 600 playing aggressively. Odd.

The top order can probably argue they did their job in seeing off overs, but the middle order didn't. Although 9 off 80 odd balls is never going to work in any style. Just puts pressure onto everyone else to score.
