Firstly there's been a wholehearted chuckle about retaining it from a days rain which is obviously understandable. But specifically answering your question, yes. The consensus is Cummins isn't captain material and has gifted way too many runs with negative field settings on top of the persistent short bowling.

What's the minimum that we need today fellas to force a win tomorrow? ( Monday a washout?)

I think 300-350 should do it but boy the bowlers need a day off.

Get the impression Smith and maybe others undermine him leading to a lack of confidence or confusion in the field. He plays an attacking game so can’t see why he’s setting up like that sometimes.

That being said I do fear Cummins, easily their best bowler

Frustrating to see their tail wag but we are still favourites. We were put into bat remember, so to be basically even after 2 days is good going.

Most importantly another entertaining day of cricket and that is all down to England, Australia tried to make it as boring as possible and suck the fun out of the game.

I just love the way this England team go out to play, front foot aggressive cricket all played with a smile on their faces. There are certainly times I find myself about to question the methods of bazball but then realise it's pointless, they aren't going to change, it will be frustrating at times but for the most part it is very entertaining and I am fully on board.

As sport should be.

If England can score somewhere between 5 and 6 an over, they might look to get the Aussies in for an uncomfortable 45 minutes or so tonight to get two cracks at them with the new ball!
Tough ask though for them to keep it going for most of the day without losing too many wickets!
