This Flintoff geezer , ... Get the fuk !!!
Whopper spell . When fit , there aint many better . Even on one leg !!!
BigBurger about ????
Look out for L.C.A.B.'s Wembley flag at Edgbaston , folks . Hollies Stand . Near the top . Thur next week .
Come on !!!!!

So why didn't Strauss make them follow on? I know it worked and we won but i thought you would always want to make the oppisition follow on, if for nothing else than to just humiliate them.

Listened to the finale on the BBC broadcast. Hows that crowd going NUTS even on the first ball. That Freddy. Deserves it he does. I was born in Leyland and were about the same age...feel as though he's kin.

Good on England though, we gave it a bash and livened it up for the final day. If Binga Lee had have been wagging we may have snatched it but not to be. Bring on Edgbaston. Punter will have the Aussies jumping through flaming hoops this week in preparation.

On a side note, there are a couple of famous Aussie larrakins called Roy and HG, they've had a radio show called 'this sporting life' for years and now they've moved into commercial radio...anyway they were doing there bit today and they were referring to Siddle as 'spearhead Siddle' had me creasing up at how far weve dropped in playing quality from McGrath..to Spearhead Siddle. You might have had to be there.

Surely , you mean , their , McB ???
Can't you spell down there , or what ???
Quits , I believe ???

P.S. I was on with Tony Schebecki and Wayne Phillips and Damian Martin - Via Talksport - on Day 5 , Oval , 05 . They were sound . No Doctor Karl , and Zan , mind , but sound nevertheless .

Good result - well played England.

BUT.....

We just can't get a victory like this into perspective in England.

We've won a test match not a series. And we should have won by more than we did, really.

Like when we won in 2005, victory parade through London???? Come on, guys. We hadn't won the Olympics, we'd scraped a series (Yes, scraped...Lost at Lords, won by 2 runs at Edgbaston, failed to nail it at OT, beaten them fair and square at TB and allowed them a draw at The Oval - hardly a whitewash was it?).

Did the Aussies go crazy when they creamed us in the last series? No. Step foward Glenn McGrath - " normal service has been resumed..." End of. No fuss. No ballyhoo.

So, I'm not getting carried away. Cardiff should have shown us what can happen. But you can see tomorrows papers can't you? England take giant step towards Ashes. Get real.

What I can't deny is: At this level and with someone as committed as FF, it's sporting theatre of the highest order - gladiators fighting the death. No quarter asked for or given. Fantastic

I'm a little shamefaced as I posted on another thread that I thought this series would be a damp squib. Think I might have been mistaken about that....

I would have made them follow on but i think he didnt mainly becuase of the fear Flintoff could break down i can see no other reason for it tbh.

Hehe we won up your Aussies!

(really hope that doesnt come back to bite me on the arse)

Good post and points very well made

Take a bow Mr Flintoff. And also Straus, vindicated for opting not to make the Aussies follow on and declared at the right time.
I'll agree with you to a point mate but we should have made them follow on,if only for as someone else put it,the humiliation aspect and a fully fit Flintoff would have seen that happen of that i'm sure.

As for the declaration he gave himself what more or less 2 days to bowl them out, lol, given good weather if they couldnt have done that it'd have been time to pack the bags up altogether.

For those that deserve.
Three tests to go for those that are more appreciative of the game and the players. I have never seen Aus white-walled, so suspect a backlash.
Not impressed Flintoff is calling tests a day after this Ashes. Great bowling display, sheer bloodymindedness, but to have effectively retired beforehand is a slight weakener.
Ponting seems a sport, and does not deserve to carry the can for the current intransigence that he is currently carrying. How the England squad would revere such a player. Seems our media and yours is not so different in its disgusting character assassination creed.

Good points Treb . Tho having been at the last day , Oval 05 . It was the greatest sporting event I've ever seen . So was O.T. They deserved to get bladdered on a bus and piss in Tony Blair's garden . 18 years was a long , long , LONG time . I know . I was there .

As for Glenda . First 11 Shobgite . Boss bowler . Tit as a fella . Had been saying 5-0 from 1993 . It was bound to come up once . Law of averages .
I'll be at Edgbaston and Headingley .
Ordering a new L.C.A.B. shirt for the day !!!
Come on England .
