Ive had time to cool down, well done you jammy buggers.

You do deserve it, you played well, your crowd got behind you and you basically do what the Aussies have done for years. You didnt give up, you tried something different and every single man on the park shone at some point in the series. Except maybe Bopara, but we have about 5 Boparas. He'll come good.

Stop fighting about the Greeks will ya?!

THIS IS CRICKET!!!

Exactly.

Amen , my brother . I knew you'd come through .
McB . Gen' Aussie Geezer,

Ahem , " Super , Super Fred , ... ".

I hereby propose myself as England's unluckiest fan . X 3 tickets , for 3 diff Test's , but didn't see a ball bowled . After making ALL the big moments of 05 , I'm pretty gutted this morning . Buzzing for England , but sick for me and our Jake .

LOL bad luck matey maybe sometime you'll look back at the summer and think yeah maybe it wasnt meant to be that i didnt go england may not have won if i'd gone.

I know there was a time when i used to go and hells bells i felt like a frikken albatross they always used to play craply then the next day they'd play like superstars.

Always next summer mate, always next summer.

On a side note great to hear Strauss's comments about the series..that lad knows the score and i hope he'll be captain for a good few years yet perfect man in what will (no should) be a time of rebuilding for england

I know . I know . I've seen us win a few though . My nephew , as I , is devoed , as the kids say .
As you say . Next year . Last year we had 2 days , my bday and the next at Edgbaston fo S.A. - Vaughany's last . KP hit over the top on 98 and was caught . Colly got a ton , I believe .
Met the team , got photies with K.P. / Gatt etc , and this year , ...
Well , it had to happen I suppose . Wouldn't mind , I'm an England member . I could've had Oval tickets but fancied Leeds to see off the series . Shows what I know .

No if you read again it says there is nothing to agree on. The media are who they are, regardless of what me or you think about.

Also I just heard that nobody has died in Athens. So maybe that is another reason why it has not been elevated up the tree.

One example of how I can illustrate how a media story is elevated is if you ever use Newsvine. Google it. It has stories that are elevated due to the people who are reading it.

I gave my opinions on it, that was all they were, opinions. You replied with your knowledge of how the media works. What i meant by my reply of "we'll have to agree to disagree" was that i still thought even after the facts you gave, that i could not agree that's how it should be.
The BBC and Sky forget they are not an English Channel, but a British one. When Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland succeed at something (granted does not happen often), they are unlikely to ever be the main news headlines.

When either of those win at their respective sports, it is never a main headline on a news channel other than a sports one. Nor is it broadcast for hours and then days afterwards.

I'm gonna finish on this now , but t's our national summer sport . If Murray wins Wimbledon , this will appear understated . Don't worry It'll be gone soon .
Personally , I love it .

Poor Ponting, pride bruised and bloodied to boot. Has conducted himself very well especially in light of the pressure on him not least that which seems to have come from the aus press. Has been the most consistant player for aus (I think) and I now have a twinge of remorse at the idea he may not be back to play again. To be fair to him, he was involved in the best wicket of the day, it being his from that throw. Good the oval applauded him off as well.
On a side note, I had no idea Stuart Broad did not live up to his name in such spectacular fashion, him being almost six feet six inches tall.

If England happen to win a tiddlywinks championship on the same day, trust me Murray will fade into the background.

Mate , let it go . It's England . thus , English media .
I'm sure when Nire'n beat us , they ferreted that away on page 15 ???
Me point is , this is the longest running rivalry in world sport . Packed houses everywhere . To us , it's a big deal . Least , to our media , and me , it is .
Ignore it if you don't like it . This is defo my last word on the subject , however .

Back to the cricket ;
What needs saying here , is how fukd we were in Feb , or whenever K.P. was sacked . We were a mess . And , for this team to come back from that against an Aussie side whom , granted , without Pinky and Perky , et al , had still won 3-zip in S.A. No mean feat .
Plus , perhaps Bopara aside , EVERYONE contributed . Colly at Cardiff , Monty ditto . Jimmy as much with bat as ball - he's injured , side , his action tells you . Cook and Straussy set up Lords . Fred finished it off . Prior was steady with bat , good with gloves . Onions at Bham , Harmy yday . Swanny at the Oval with ball , boss with bat throughout . Ditto Broad . Bell made a , streaky 70 , but it mattered . Trott was hot , baby .

Credit where it's due .

Wish he'd have played for us .
