The Best Chippy in Liverpool?

Always used to be Pitarras in Litherland for me, but it's probably 20 years since I've been there. Is it even still there?
 

Used to be John's chippy on Rice Lane Walton opposite the old Dunlop factory just beyond Walton Hospital (60s/70s era).

He only opened for a couple of hours at lunchtime and early evening and gave the smallest portions but can honestly say never been matched anywhere.

I reckon he used to sacrifice virgins to the gods in the backroom to get his chips that good.
 
I used to love The Bronte in Crosby opposite civic Hall... gone now, and I still mourn it's loss.

It's actually a Chinese takeaway now called Maicee, run by the guy who used to run Tsosan on South road...

Still miss the Bronte's fish and chips though. And the spitfires.
