The blame game

Kenwright and Moshiri. This dates back years. Poor appointments. No real plan. Weird with transfers and both played a part in our current financial situation. Didn’t clean house like they should have and kept “Everton legends” around past their time which may have played a part in some of the mentioned managerial downfalls to be fair. You always clean house and let managers pick their own staff after.

Looking from the outside in,I think if you had Delph at the start of his career you would have found he was an outstanding footballer. I watched his debut for Leeds he was better than anything since Aaron Lennon. The market is over inflated we lost money last year on a turnover of £189 million. Clubs like Leeds, Everton, without coherent investment and a decent scouting policy are always going to struggle. Brentford and Brighton are probably the best examples of how to survive in this league. Hopefully we are rid of Radz and Orta if we survive. Nice easy game tonight v the unmentionables who you want to win tonight.
But we didn't. If we had had Gazza, Eto'o and Ginola at the start of their careers it would have been different. Not sure what your point is.

It is very mediocre. Utterly so. That was never acceptable.

Ask an RS or Man Utd fan what they think.

If its not good enough for them, why did it become good enough for us?

And then ask what has happened since the heady days of our solitary 4th placed finish?

Even then it was a joke. Lost in the qualifying round, then drop down to the UEFA Cup and got battered in that qualifying.

Not to be outdone, we lost 0-7 to Arsenal in the league after 4th place was secured.

Their fans were mocking us.

Champions League you're having a laugh. Indeed.
That's just the Everton mentality. We finished 4th with a GD of -1.

Even when we had a chance of 99 points in 1985 we lost to Forest, Coventry and Luton after securing the League and ended up with 90 points. At least the players and manager had a good bevvy for the last few weeks.

Can you honestly say with a straight face that Ancelotti should have stayed here to manage the decline of the squad whilst we spent no money?

We messed him around and he is a good enough manager that he was able to tell us where to go.
We wouldn’t have declined with him in charge. He left at the first opportunity. He used us as a temp job until Madrid came calling which I suspect he knew they would.

He left us in the lurch. Then Benitez>Lampard>current situation.

That probably cost us the double that year too.

Best thing we could have hoped for from Haaland is a fat profit after giving us one fun season. Lad is going to win the lot and he wouldn't have wasted his time here long!
