I understand the family friend's pain. There definitely is an inverse correlation of common sense with increasing qualifications. I'll say that medicine isn't that hard a degree, it's just 4-5 years of stamina-sapping rote learning. This is very true.
A friend of the family is an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon)
What he doesn’t know about the human eye and optic nerves isn’t worth knowing and routinely performs intricate eye surgeries on his patients. Years of university and post grad work to get where he is today and quite well of for it as well.
His wife once went for a weekend away with the girls for a friends hen night and he set the kitchen on fire trying to cook oven chips and had to call the fire brigade.
My old plant nursery Foreman - used to tell me when I was doing my City & Guilds uupto legs 2 stage a 4 year apprenticeship......I will learn you your trade, don't ever quote college to me .......you need your papers, but in his opinion he had never met anyone even with NDH or OND or a degree in horticulture capable in a all his career any good useless the lot of them - Bookworms the lot of them .....Univesity of worms isn't it, Joe?
I believe it was Plato who saidwho claimed his head?? last action was engaged in pm so hopefully buddy offered straightener to mod.
is plato still posting on here?? he seems like a wise buddy.I believe it was Plato who said
"He who tries to take a mod to Morrison's will suffer a virtuous hammering."
He went the right time for me.I feel empty. Think he had more to give. He died a Demi-god when he should have gone full Zeus. So much lost potential
He went the right time for me.
It's attributed to Plato, but probably came from Socrates.I believe it was Plato who said

"...there is only one good, knowledge and one evil, ignorance. To this end, one who tries to take a mod...."
you probably don't want him knowing your home address, he wanted me to change my picture of Rhubarb (my tribute to Darren) to a picture of my wife.this is incorrect Mr Bohemian friend; I had a query regarding my Sky subscription and was hoping for his advice.
I like Rhubarbyou probably don't want him knowing your home address, he wanted me to change my picture of Rhubarb (my tribute to Darren) to a picture of my wife.
I've been to Southampton often enough to know there are plenty of places to hide the bodies.
It's well known that firemen make the best horticulturalists so that's not surprising Joe. A lot of transferrable skills. My old plant nursery Foreman - used to tell me when I was doing my City & Guilds uupto legs 2 stage a 4 year apprenticeship......I will learn you your trade, don't ever quote college to me .......you need your papers, but in his opinion he had never met anyone even with NDH or OND or a degree in horticulture capable in a all his career any good useless the lot of them - Bookworms the lot of them .....
So I achieve both TBF that Fireman was the best Horticulturalist I ever worked with .......He could have gone to the top imo .....
