i was just going to post that they weren't the kind of thing that was up his alley.
Wowsers for the picture. It wasn't just looks, because this woman was both beautiful and deeply funny, which is the hardest of acts to execute successfully.
There is a fine line between comedy and tragedy since both are inevitable to us all in the course of our lives and what lies after. In that spirit, let me share the following. I saw this first with a hotel room full of other band mates back in the seventies. Some of the lines in this speech became shorthand for the rest of our lives. Any chance to drop one into casual conversation was and is guaranteed to put everyone else on the floor.
The Mary Tyler Moore show was almost like a trail blazer for a whole host of sitcoms - Cheers, etc.
I was only a kid when it was on, but we'd all watch it as a family. Great show.
