tremendous actor, lived a full life, continued to make interesting choices right to the end, snowpiercer and only lovers left alive being two little gems in the latter stages of his career
His portrayal of Caligula in I Claudius was spell-binding - repulsive and malignant yet somehow still compelling.
Elephant Man, Alien, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy... Fantastic career. RIP Blue.
...Midnight Express a favourite of mine. Great actor.

He had a part in Z Cars in the 60s. Perhaps that's why he became a fan.
So so many, but the one that stands out for me is his portrayal of Joseph Merrick in the Elephant Man.
He was born to play this part. Sublime acting, played with such tenderness and depth, he became the Elephant Man.
RIP, a complete actor and a fella that always seemed to have to time of day for everyone.
