The Dead Thread

As for the bandwagon hopping and fake sympathy - won't argue I detest the Facebook profile picture changers with French or German flags etc myself
I hope you don't think I'm trolling mate, it wasn't my intention, I just offered an opinion as a parent, as has been said though I would seriously have to put myself in his shoes to truly understand.

Fair one mate, as a parent it's just something that I personally can't comprehend.
Yes, because you haven't suffered from depression, felt so lonely and lost that the only way out, in your mind at least due to an additiction to drugs and alcohol, possibly due to sexual abuse you received as a child, is suicide.

Of course you cannot relate to it. RIP Chester

Nah I didn't think you where mate, and I Can almost guarantee that his family and kids etc are stuff that's probably seen him through times that without maybe this happens far sooner, hard to comprehend what the tipping point was that leads anyone to thinking it's the only solution they have, but sadly happens all too often.

I don't think he meant it like that mate, which he has clarified.

The thing with mental illness is that until you've experienced it yourself first hand, it's almost impossible to actually put yourself in the shoes of a sufferer. Hence why some think it doesn't really exist or it's a way of trying it on.

Kurt Cobain being another example.

It always seems to me a cliche thing to say when a 'celebrity' dies but Linkin Park music helped me a lot when I was younger. Suffered badly with illness when I was in my teens and his music was a big escape and release for me and it still is now to be honest. No issue with saying they are my favorite band.

I never thought I could be affected by something like this happening to somebody I never knew but as I have said before it was a massive escape for me in my teenage years.

Some of the comments in here today been absolutley sh#thouse. That said if you cant understand depression and the toll it can take its probably a good thing means you or someone close to you hasnt been battling it. Was never a huge linkin park fan, was into there album they did with jay z all 5 or 6 of the tracks off that where better then the original version's and there live performance was cool. Remember jay looking at chester with a look of where did that come from when they did 99 problemz

Rhino, kindly stop deliberately avoiding the bad language filter.

Oh, and it's 'absolutely' and 'their'

Sad to see another relatively young fella with seemingly everything to live for succumb to the black dog.

Glad some of you have remembered that when an artist dies the most important thing is to let everyone know you weren't a fan. Don't ever pass up an opportunity to let everyone know how perfect your taste in everything is.

Was excited to listen to Hybrid Theory and it has aged, for me, as well as I hoped.

Still, nothing will beat getting into getting into the local metal/emo club at 16 and downing martini on the riverbank listening to them.
