…..I think I worked with Dave in the Civil Service for a while. Lovely lad, good footballer and massive Evertonian. If it’s the same Dave Wiggins he was younger than me, could only be in his early 60s.
It WAS Igbo : a tribe from s.E. Nigeria. lolYou could be right! Funny how the years deceive. We've had a running joke in the family about that ever since.
Either way, it's a great gag.

You played 5-a-side in the Rock? That was where the staff at Breckfield ILO played every week! I worked in Breckfield from its openeing on 21st April 1976 until I moved on promotion at the end of 1986. Perhaps our paths crossed...?….sadly, it seems it is the same Dave Wiggins I had the absolute pleasure to have known many years ago. A totally decent man, a genuine Christian & a true gentleman in every sense of the word. A very good footballer, we played 5 a side after work in ‘The Rock’ on Whitefield Rd. He loved his Everton.
There is absolutely no doubt the world was a better place for Dave Wiggins. I am extremely saddened by the news, thoughts are with his family and friends.

RIP to the one of the all-time greats.
In addition to his NFL career, he’s also considered by many to be the greatest lacrosse player of all time.
One of my neighbors growing up played in running back corps with Jim Brown at Syracuse (he was a full back). Some great memories talking his ear off about all things Jim Brown
