Very sad, a mighty man was Jim. Other than his movies or football career I would encourage people to check out his other work. His appearance on the Dick Cavett show where he calmly debates the odious racist Lester maddox is a wonderful showcase of dignity and intelligence.

Jim Brown was a unbelievably great athlete, a memorable actor, and a complicated man. He was also the kind of friend you need to have when you're about to run out of friends.
This is Richard Pryor talking about this. There is bad language here because, well, Richard Pryor. Still, recommended. We all need friends like Jim Brown.

Martin Amis's The Information is probably the funniest novel I've ever read. Very sad to see him go, and felled by the same cancer that killed his buddy Christopher Hitchens. Somehow I'm guessing that both of them will be more fondly remembered in the United States than in their native country.

Amazing series Rome. Pity it cost too much that HBO cancelled it without many series being made. He was a great character in it.
