Yeah same here. We used to listen to him on the radio in work back in the early 80's. He was one funny man, & the characters like Mr Mad had us all in stitches. Don't think there was anyone like him. Most DJ's you want them to shut up & play some music. It was the other way around with Wrighty, you couldn't wait for the record to finish as you knew another laugh was on the way. Sounded a bit dated when he went over to radio 2, but his radio 1 days were his finest. RIP Steve. Thanks for all the laughs.

Starting to feel my life is reaching an end .

I agree mate , I listened to him from the early days when radio was the dominate media , no tv in the mornings just 3 channels .
He was the same age as me and today I feel like another part of my life is over.
