The Demotion of the song Grand Old Team

Should Grand Old Team be restored to prominence again over the numb nuts 'wooo!' song

Absolutely not. I'm sorry but GOT is an uninspiring dirge. It's sums everything wrong with the club. Even our song we have to talk about those scumbags over the park. We don't need to be talking about them in the clubs anthem. A fan favourite that we can always go back to? Definitely, 100%. I love the GOT chant, but no way should it be the clubs official anthem. Collectively singing spirit of the blues has been one of the few good things to happen in recent years. I'm sorry if that offendeds the boring old bellends that never sing at all (or even go the match in most cases) but you'll just have to live with it lads.
I didn't say make it an official anthem. I stated that its been unceremoniously demoted by a clueless gang of pirates who heard a few chants of Spirit of the Wooos in the run in to the relegation threatened season before last and thought they could chummy-up to fans who despise them by giving them what they thought they wanted.

This is a cultural issue and a political issue between board and fans.

I'm not complaining about any forum name.

Blue Kipper was a well thought out name and so is Grand Old team.

Stop side tracking this thread.

You literally brought up the name of this forum like it actually matters... you're the one side-tracking the most pointless Everton thread in existence.

It's just a song, Dave. One that fans enjoy singing. It's really not that deep. I hate them both, but our owner and chairman aren't plotting to strip away the clubs culture by chosing to prioritise Spirit of the Blues over Grand Old Team. These people aren't James Bond villains ffs, they're Mr Bean with an ego!

Not sure what angle Dave is working here but he’s definitely working something
Considering he's so much for tradition he wants the Leitch design binning from BMD. Maybe it's because the design is also used at other grounds and not solely at ours.
GoT on the other hand is only sung by us, oh wait a minute...
I quite like them both

This might be unimportant in terms of the real problems we're face with at the club at the moment, but it's getting on my nerves and I have to speak out.

Over the past 12 months or so the club have placed this song down the pecking order in favour of stuff like Forever Everton and that abomination Spirit of the Blues (which, IMO, only people who are impressed by cat memes can possibly like).

Grand Old Team should rightfully be restored to being played prior to Z-Cars and immediately after any win or good/unexpected draw against a top of the table challenging team.

The fact that no longer happens is another example of the trampling down of our culture by the clueless frauds who've cratered the club in the last 7 seasons.

Thoughts?
Grand Old Team sounds like a travelling carnival song and Bill is the creepy clown that comes with it
Spirit of the Blues and Cat Memes for me lol
