The Derby

We have obviously had a terrible time of it in these games for a long while now, hence most peoples quite understandable negativity.
LAW OF AVERAGES however, says that this run has to end eventually and THIS is the time that would hurt them most.
Too often lately it has been a game primarily for local pride. THIS GAME means so much more than that for them. Their pressure on them is immense.
Very few Evertonians look forward to derby games these days, but believe me THEY are dreading this.
ANY derby win would be welcome, but this one will destroy their 'feel good' factor. The cracks are there already.
How soul destroying for them yesterday to win 3-0 away from home, only to find that City topped it by winning 4-0 away.
I can't wait to see 'Klopp out' trending on social media as they realise they are 5 points behind Citeh and are destined for another season with no silverware.
Their pain will be a joy to behold.

Free hit this. All the pressure's on them. They'll be huge favourites and they absolutely cannot afford to drop points if they want to remain in the title race.

We've won our winnable home games going into it, avoiding all banana-skins, with a bonus point at Chelsea and taken all the pressure off ourselves.

If we lose, I'm ok with it, as they're a very good side and we'll still have a truck load of positives going forward. If we get anything, it's an absolute bonus and derails their title push.

Ideal build up to a derby really, in many ways.

.... This. We really have to go into it with the attitude that we have nothing to lose, we play our football and have a really good go at them. With Marco at the helm and few players in our present starting XI who would have even played in a losing Everton team v Liverpool in the league (thinking of the two draws last season) hopefully we won't have players nursing ghosts from previous humiliations. In fact I can only think of Coleman and Gueye in our present starting team who were around in Koeman season #1.

I always think the pressure is on us in derby games which is why our record is so bad- pressure to end the unbeaten run is always there in the backs of players minds whereas that lot just go out and play the game.

As others have said this time its very different as they can not afford to realistically drop points in any games if they hope to catch City.

I think if they are level with about 20 minutes to go they'll go full on attack and leave themselves wide open to be hit on the break.

Silva has to be telling the players to go into this seeing it as a free hit. If the pressure is off us we'll get something from this one.

All the pressure is on them, the media have them as self styled champions elect, with our terrible record there and this promising new beginning under Silva we can pretty much go into this as a "free hit",to be honest if we can take our positive attitude from the Arsenal/Man U/Chelsea away games(positive attitude, not results obviously!!)I honestly feel we can upset the applecart over there, they, as usual have got away with it in a number of games which could really have slipped out of their grasp,Up the Toffees:)

The one saving grace this year, is that the players we've recruited won't fear this lot. Gomes, Mina, Digne, Bernard - all played on the biggest stage (even Richarlison for Brazil). They won't bend over.

Got to keep it tight like at Chelsea and break with conviction. I genuinely think Henderson will be a loss, he keeps that team organised and stable. It's a blessing if that donkey Fabinho comes in the replace him.

3-1 win for Everton, and cue the entire media blaming them having to play midweek etc.

Richarlison with a brace and to reignite memories of Kanchelskis many moons ago, Gomes to open his account for us.

One of theirs will get sent off too for a horrendous tackle trying to show their fans he gets the derby.

Right lads, only a week away now and I'm actually buzzing for this. I genuinely think we can go there and do something this time. Liverpool are not unbeatable and we are in great form. I'm going to say 2-1 to the blues.

4 pages in, haven't read anything but aren't they unbeaten in the league this season?

Am not sure what to make of our form. Of course winning is brilliant and it plays hand in hand with confidence, but 1-0 against Cardiff at home doesn't make me feel too optimistic about RS away.

Maybe it's just a new feeling to see our manager approach games tactically as opposed to a one-size-fits-all. He might have a plan for how to unravel them lot.

COYB!
