The EU deal

I think you could be surprised. Especially with above incidents and sectarian undertones again using Ireland as an Example. All you need is a coupple of Fanta scruffs or Celtic fans tearing up the centre of Amsterdam, you have to remember the liberties you are potentially giving away.
The liberties are already going because they aren't sustainable if the EU stays the way it is. Schengen is practically a thing of the past. Benefits and worker rights will go next.

The EU would have worked if it was more directly accountable, remained the small number of rich early members and kept it's borders controled and implemented a points system for immigration from outside. I used to be pro EU.

However that was never their plan.

You can go to the US for a few months at a time without a VISA. I think taking a trip over to Dub to watch the footie won't be an issue.

George says otherwise

Quote from George Osborne yesterday,

“Let’s be clear, if we quit the EU then this is going to be the border with the European Union,” he said, pointing to the Carlingford Lough waterway which separates the jurisdictions.

“And all the things that those that want to quit the EU claim would happen – ie new immigration checkpoints, border controls and an end to free movement – that has a real consequence, and there would have to be a real hardening of the border imposed either by the British government or indeed by the Irish government.”

It will effect my chances of working there.

Some of us seek work amongst these funny speaking peoples too. They're actually alright.
If you have the skills then I'm sure you'll have no problem.

More than happy to seek work in Europe. I just don't need to right now.

And that just shows the ridiculousness of the lies remain will go to.

I don't believe that it is. I'm really torn on the whole issue tbh. The problem is that none of us are able to see into the future, we can use all teh information given to us (not much in this case) and use that to forma an argument, I just don't think that I've got the right stuff to build an argument with yet.

There are good points either side I just wish they would focus on them rather than the rubbish they're coming out with.

I am absolutely norrarsed about people coming into the country, regardless of where their from, it all adds up the rich tapestry of what makes us, us, adding to our Norse, or Viking, or Saxon backgrounds. I don't care about peoples beliefs, as I don't really have one in a religious sense, so I have no bias.

What I don't want though is for our elected governments to become effectively powerless to implement their manifestos, and I want them to stop using EU governance as an excuse leading to "Well we would've but for" politics. But on the other hand, we need somebody to control the Tories or there'll be no country left for anybody to do trade with.

The people of the UK control the Tories, not some body in Brussels. Vote them out if you want. I've heard a few labour politicians saying about controlling the Tories which is like saying "we are unelectable".....if we give away this one chance to get out we will see a raft of new EU initiatives come out the day after.......just get back control of our own destiny vote Leave.......

I think that this is my biggest issue. I don't want a United States of Europe. They say it wont, but then, how many warned of what this EU has become only to be told it wont happen......

Have no doubt that a superstate is the intention:

At the entrance to the Visitors Centre of the European Parliament, there is a plaque with these words:

“National sovereignty is the root cause of the most crying evils of our times….The only final remedy for this evil is the federal union of the peoples.”

-------

Of course I'm just a crazy conspiracy theorist to suggest they aim to have a federal United States of Europe. ;)

don't see the connection between the 2
we're an Island our borders are at the coast ( and airports obvs)
I doubt if you travelled in Europe you would get too much hassle in real terms...and don't think that anybody arriving from NI doesn't already get a good looking at.

whats the current polls saying?

You've travelled and worked abroad a fair bit haven't you? Do you find it more difficult to work outside of the EU to the point of almost being undoable? If you had similar job offers in Germany, or I dunno, Chile, would yo go to Germany cause it would be easier, or do you mean that it would be less likely you'd be offered the position in Chile? Genuine Question.

This is point though. They are alright, and we don't mind those that want to come and work, and in the future they will still be able to do it, but this catch all where we cannot even send back criminals etc to their home countries just winds people up and is stupid. But the Eu elite will not listen or fix the issues that people want, they have their eyes on the superstate of the USE and that's it, take it or leave it. Well I vote Leave.......
