The EU deal

Rather children than people who have completely lost their marbles and will most likely be dead in a couple of years and won't be around to deal with the consequences, it's the youth who will have to carry the can for this. It's best they have a say in their future. Whatever they decide.

Young people have man buns and think dapper laughs is funny.

Wisdom comes with age, no?

My favourite argument made by Labour politicians is that the EU restricts the Tories. In other words, "The EU restricts national parliments."

And they are practically admitting that they are unelectable .

Weird how the biggest leave supporters on this forum are of the opposite opinion that it's important that the youth get their vote out.

As an undecided I find it quite concerning.

I'd raise the voting age. 18 is too young, as is 21. Just a personal opinion.

Farage is even seen by the Leave campaign as toxic. Looking forward to his mask slipping live on air.
Or do you just like to hear lying Dave?
Farage like him or not tell us how it is yes young German women did get sexually molested in Germany in the new year by immigrants fact whether it may happen over here if they get a EU passport who knows?
Nothing toxic about that just concern better than the lies Davy boy has been peddling today on the economy if we leave!

I'm not sure this is true. I think he can reach a lot ordinary people, that of which a Tory politician could not.

Because more people will bow to fear mongering, especially with a vocal media.

It is the realpolitik of today, don't tell anyone what you can or will do, but terrify them with tales of what the opposition will do.

I still believe he is playing to a minority, but unfortunately that minority are more likely to vote than the disillusioned and the apathetic.

My ailing memory tells me that for the Scottish referendum the voting age was lowered, that correct?

If so, are young Scots more able to discern a political view than their english counterparts?

For such a long reaching decision I believe the age should have included 16 year olds upwards, but only if the debate and the arguments were done in a dignified manner, otherwise you would have to have young people regressing to a younger age to understand the behaviour of the politicians

I think that the Scottish, on average, are just more intelligent than the English....

They're not, he plays to a minority with a minority view.
He doesn't just bring up the issue of immigration but was championing the undemocratic argument long before anyone else too.

The fact is they are both valid reasons. You may not have a problem with uncontrolled immigration and that's fair enough however many do and it's not due to racism. They simply don't want their communities to change, their wages to be depressed, their taxes to be higher or to have to wait longer for public services. For some people that's not an issue because of where they live. For others that's the main issue. It doesn't make them racists.

A country in the long term doesn't do well economically by moving it's working class on to the dole and then importing cheap labour to do the work. Financially that's unsustainable.

Our village is surrounded by farms, they all have VOTE LEAVE posters in their fields and in the pub they say they are voting out.....no idea where the NFU are representing......

Just to set the record straight .... The NFU per se has decided not to hold a view either way. However, the President (Meurig Raymond) and his team have stated that they personally are in favour of the EU.

A lot of farmers are fed up with EU imposed regulations and are perhaps taking a view that a Brexit might just stop some inspections

It should be decided by your ability to do simple tasks such as operating a computer. Just a personal opinion.

My young brother is better on the computer than many. I wouldn't want him to be able to vote. Nor would I want many of my mates to vote, I'm twenty one myself.
