The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Tbh Ive never thought this loan was anything dodgy, it may be a poor deal but it isn't connected to Earl/BCR sports imo.

Thousands of companies are registered in the British Virgin Islands and Vibrac have a similar arrangement with a few other clubs

Thought all our loans were 'underwritten' by earl?

I don't get this way of thinking. Lets pretend instead of talking about the board, we were talking about a car.

You own a 1999 1.0l corsa. It's had numerous problems, damage and over time it's become untrustworthy.

You are offered another 1999 1.0l corsa in much better condition, well looked after and no history of problems, this car will be much more reliable. All you have to do is swap cars.

But instead your way of thinking is...i'll keep this car which is falling apart and untrustworthy until i get the chance to have a ferrari?

That analogy is actually nothing like the scenario of changing owners, how do you know the new car hasn't got a blown gasket, and you make out there are no positives to this board and that they have taken us backwards instead of what's actually happened.

I like that the new owner will have no history of problems... they generally have no history of football club ownership what so ever, and most are a massively untrustworthy bunch prone to changing club names, stadium names, shirt colours or worse still employing Mark Hughes or Harry Redknapp.

Can you name a less successful 16 year spell in our history than the 16 under the current board members?

Because I can't.

It does work, people are unwilling to give anything but a super billionaire a go, personally if i was breaking down in my car daily and had a chance to change it for a similar but more well looked after one, i'd take it.

You speak of positives with our board? You think they haven't taken us backwards?? Really?

There are lots of positives with our board.

We've been mostly consistently in the top 7 or 8 for the last 12 years, which we weren't when they took over. We've avoided relegation and bankruptcy which puts us above a lot of football clubs. Our tickets are expensive but they're generally affordable. I trust them in hiring good managers and keeping them here. And the everton in the community/charity side is brilliantly run and does us a lot of credit.

The negatives outweigh those, imo, but lets not pretend they don't exist.

Yeah but your assuming the new chairman is a step up, what if the car in your analogy that you buy is utterly knackered and the new chairman isn't very good??

Your analogy completely ignores the high possibility that the new guy is actually a step down, and only leaves room for a good chairman to come in and improve us.
